Great instruction. I leave my chairs out stacked and covered thru the snow. This usually isn’t an issue, but this year the cover blew off. People went through 2 of the 4 chairs over the 4th of July. Glad I can repair them before the next pool party!

I'm about to try it after watching your video about 20 times.

It was tough but I did it! I'm working on the second chair and one slot is so much tighter than the other. I think the regular patio chairs may be easier but these "high grade" swivel chairs are just too much. Don't think I'll be doing that kind again.

How quick you got your timing down. Hey if it takes a 3 day weekend one would have furniture like new, with the latest fabrics to last another 5 years. 🎉🙌👏

So my first set of chairs with the stipes lasted about 4 years before they faded and did not look good. But they were not outdoor material and I left them outside in the rain, sun, snow. With this set I used the more expensive outdoor all-weather material. It's been three years now on the same back porch. These look like I put the fabric on yesterday. sewing the fabric was the easy part. Getting them back on the chairs proves to be a bit more difficult. Thanks for your comment. Jon

What settings are your sewing machine on? How big is the fold for the slide rods?
@christineshotton8247 ай бұрын
Look at your original fabric when you remove it as a possible guide. Look up your type of machine and then google not just the settings but what type thread for outdoor furniture. Hope that helps.

I bought similar chairs and the fabric deteriorated within a year. But the aluminum frame is intact. I hate to replace the fabric every year or so, is there an alternative?

Saul, The fabric I am using in this video is still going strong. When you go into a fabric store ask the clerk to show you where the outdoor material is. This stuff is great and has shown no signs of wear yet since the posting of this video. And my back deck is brutal. facebook.com/JONSDIY/photos/pcb.2955831108065679/2955830501399073/

If you sew the end of the channel closed the plastic pieces won’t poke through. I am assuming lol. Thanks for this!

Flomena you are 100% correct but if you are familiar with my videos you would know that I really do make it up as I go along. And in my introduction to my channel I tell viewers to improve on my design. Which you definitely did in this case. I think I did a few your way but just did not catch it on video. Thanks for watching and don’t forget to subscribe. Jon

If my fabric ends up being too long after I pull it through the chair do I have to take it out and essential start over??
@JONSDIY3 жыл бұрын
No, just adjust one side to compensate for the length. Then refit.
@MariahChan963 жыл бұрын
@@JONSDIY I'm not sure what you mean. Just have one side stick out and put the end cap on the other side?
@JONSDIY3 жыл бұрын
@@MariahChan96 no I meant pull the slide out that is a little bit longer pull the thread just on that one side and then shorten it you should be good to go
