BE AWARE. This video has no dialogue. Unless you want to be driven half insane by a repeating musical loop you can, (and should) just mute the video. That being said, while steps are missed a lot can be learned from what the tech did. At 11:45, look carefully. The lower motor mount engine plate threaded studs (x2), one showing exterior corrosion, suddenly change into bolts w/ heads. The tech has used the two nut reversal/compression technique to give him a place to put a socket to ratchet off the studs to remove the water pump. Haven’t seen that in other videos. In other vids the guys just strip off the torx top of the stud then go get a stud extractor tool to get them out of their self-made situation. Nice. This tech also did not show how he held the camshaft sprocket wheel the get the center 17mm bolt out. That’s kinda important. Others have used a chain wrench or “pin” tool to hold that wheel in place. These “shadowing” vids are still very useful to learn techniques of the pros. For this vid, just be sure to mute it before you start it or you will replay that annoying music ear wig tune in your head the rest of the day.

Is it possible to visually inspect the timing belt on the 3MZ-FE engine to be sure the belt needs replacing?

The timing belt should be replaced after 100,000 km

@@MayoCarsDR Yes, but I don't have good records to tell when it was replaced, so my hope is to visually inspect it and try to see how worn out or new it is.
