Replacing 2007 Impreza Rear Wheel Bearing and CV Axle Shafts

In this video, I replace a noisy drivers side wheel bearing and some beat up CV axel shafts to really improve the drivability of my 2007 Impreza 2.5i. These repairs are neither fun nor cool, but necessary to keeping the car in good driving condition. Stay tuned for more videos about my journey of modifying the car.

O'Reilly sells National brand. When I got mine it was a Koyo made in Japan. Warrantied for 3 years but last longer because it's literally an OEM bearing. I work there and am doing Subaru #8 that we've owned. My wife's car.

Did you replace with a Subaru CV Axle to autoparts store one? They usually only recommend Subaru Axles. I typically just rebuild mine as its cheaper.

Those import direct axles are great. I'm glad you wound up there. They're way better. Sorry for post whoring lol. But yeah I gave my import direct ones hell and have never had one fail on one of mine. Also neoprene boots won't deteriorate from oil or heat like rubbers.

Hullo there, thanks the helpful work bro,really in my operations the challanging part is been at the bush bolt where you heat up mine is still intact otherwise i cut out the extra rusty bolt nut off with a sprocketing cutter the rest of attempt is slow but approachably friendly, GOD BLESS Thanks Sande UGANDA

Actually all the hub bearings have been extra rusty and renewed,ok

I’m having issue with when I’m pressing the Hub it rotates with the press tool, will this damage/ mess up the bearing? I am also freezing both the bearing and the hub prior to installing them if that matters

Does the cv. Just pull out . E Brake is pain 1 piece curvy thing not sure where it goes . Got bearing out. Bought new spindle.. It's all new. Pain in the butt job. All bolts frozen rust. Its raining and cold while I'm working. And my dog is barking

That sounds like a pain. The cv should just pop out, but sometimes requires the additional force that a prybar between it and the diff can supply. I'm not sure as far as the curvy thing with the e brake, but best of luck with the job.

@@gkgt5226 The curvy spring goes on the spacer fir the shoes. I finishing the one side now. I need to probably buy a new hub nut. Now I have to do the other side. But I have all the tools out. Pullers etc.

@@riddlescom Not a fond memory... dealing with that wheel bearing took longer than it would take to remove and reinstall the engine somehow
