Well done mate, saved yourself a fortune doing the work yourself, had an old converted lifeboat cabin cruiser 30ft years ago mahogany on oak, never again plastic for me now

Hi Sam. Anto has sorted my rigging out as well as helping me get my Midget 31 ready at Woolverstone. He is a top man. 👍

that was good amount of work you got done ,considering the weather ,boom fix was a major headache gone,well done Frank he's a hero,nice hack with the sanding i gave putting velcro pads on multi tool go through tons and the fall off after two minutes and foam pad falls to bits

I once stripped loads of layers of paint from the hull of a grp wayfarer. I used a chemical stripper and although it required several applications, it was steady away work.

The sanding hack is amazing, what is the name of that particular part? Excellent job on that boom. You could tap a screw in the mast using a blind rivet nut to prevent it jumping out at the top.
@rezawaheed8879Күн бұрын
buy a new handle on that stopcock, im sure theres a screw on top and swap out for a new one because you know that moment at sea when your depending on it it will fall off in your hand, like your work ethic cheers

@@rezawaheed8879 I'll give it a try but with access not great in that area it woulf probably be just as easy to replace the valve. Thanks for watching 😎

Why is it always cold wet and generally miserable when boat work needs doing 😂
@Sailing_Bungaree2 күн бұрын
Because it’s Suffolk 🤣
@sickgit662 күн бұрын
Because we like to go sailing when it's nice and warm, which inevitably means all the dull and grim jobs have to be done in rainy season. That and it's Suffolk 😆

How do you rate the new rivet gun, Sam? I'm also in need of one and can't decide on a model the same as yours, or maybe a version with slightly longer arms. I also have a boom and gooseneck job to deal with.
@samsails98202 күн бұрын
Its ok does the job, finding one that did 6.2mm rivets took a bit of searching.

Not going to harangue you about the order in which you're working, which is dictated by your circumstances. Yes, I probably would've bitten the bullet and pulled out the engine, cleaned the bilges and repainted them to be able to see leaks, problems etc and replaced whatever was worn all at the same time, including the seacocks and routing the exhaust hose as required for ease of maintenance in the future, but that's one person's choice not everyone's. I sure don't envy you working outside in January in the UK on your girl. How is the list of jobs to do looking now?
@samsails9820Күн бұрын
Its a job on the cards for another year, I may replace it with a different model, always liked the Beta engine. It will do fine for now. List of jobs in narrowing down, auto bilge pump is last of the smaller jobs the deck being the next 'phase' est 2-3 months
