Replacing A Chain Tensioner On A Single Speed Mountainbike

I wanted a cleaner look on my single speed mountainbike. And also the Shimano Alfine chain tensioner slapped alot because it's a dubble wheel tensioner, So i replaced it it for a BLB Chain Tensioner!
Bike Frame: On One Inbred steel 29er
Fork: On One Rigid 29er Mitsubishi Carbon
Stem, Handlebars, seatpost: El Guapo, Saddle WTB
Wheels: Selcof hubs , WTB rims
Brakes / Cranks: Shimano SLX, chain Connex by Wiperman 9sp Pedals: Crank Brothers Mallet 2 Raw Lime Green
Headset: FSA
Tires: Schwalbe Racing Ray / Racing Ralph Tubless

Would i be better off using shimano chain tensioner than single pulley tensioners for full suspension bike ?

hi i would like to ask if its ok to use an old rd for a chain tensioner? or i should ask why you changed the rd for a real chain tensioner. ty

A chain tensioner can be adjust more easily according to your chain line. Rd can be used but it's not ideal. Good luck!!

@RollinRat the reason why you go ss is to get rid of heavy derailleur, cassetes, and shifters.

Can I find out what kind of chain? For single-speed transmission or multi-speed?

I use here a 9 speed chain 3/32 Connex by Wippermann

I have the actual 29er SS inbred frame and also a geared 29er inbred frame. While i'm no fan of PlanetX (have serious issues with them), I also have a On One Hello Dave and a On One Fatty v2. 😀

@RollinRat Company and aftercare as well as build quality if you buy a full bike. Frames them selves have been fine.
