When using an adjustable wrench, pull against the fixed jaw, especially in high torque situations. If the adjustable jaw fails, you can get a face/mouth full of broken wrench. That little rope clamp you used is what we called a Spanish windlass in the shipyard. VERY handy and cheap tool; you can clamp, align and even hoist small distance. Keep the videos coming!

Awesome, thanks for the sharing the knowledge! Glad to hear I'm not the only one who uses this "Spanish windlass".

Nice job guys. Looks more like a bushin than a bearing.

Thanks! Yeah, they definitely look more like bushings. It's essentially a brass shell with an inner nitrile filling. The water lubricates between the nitrile filling and the shaft when the shaft rotates.

It’s called a strut. Not a cutlass. The bearing is called cutlass bearing. The cutlass bearing is in the strut. Measure everything you replace. Always verify what the manual says. That goes for any liquids and electrical stuff. Manufacturers love to change things and they are not good at proofreading. Good luck!
