I did not remove the shelf nor turn the water valve off. Just brought the cover all the way down, brought the filter as far down and possible, twist counterclockwise unit it stopped, pull on the filter and it came off. The new one went in just as easy. Push filter in until it stopped, twist clockwise until it stopped. Done and ready for another round. I was so relieved that no problem came up. I used, the authentic filter. Bough 3 for a special price of $109.00 "Three pack", from the company.

I use aftermarket filters and have no problems. The LG filters are overpriced.

LG spent so much time to design the locking mechanism to defeat the aftermarket water filter to use in their LG!! BS!!! Buy yourself a RO underkitchen sink system ,,5 stage with a 3 galon tank, put it under your kitchen sink, feed the 1/4 to the LG frig, you will never have to replace the LG water filter! (just keep reseting if LG frig told you to replace the water filter or maybe just replace 1 every 2 years etc...)

I about broke my filter module though I ordered the correct part number and model number. In process of, I discovered the model numbers were slightly varied on the two LG cartridges. The one in my fridge (that came with it) was model LT700P/LT700PC, but the one that looked essentially identical was model LT700P. The part number (ADQ36006101-S) was identical on both though. So trying to force the new one in was what almost broke it. Anyway, I'm returning these and getting the dual model ones. They are ever so close to identical. Your video was helpful though. Thank you!

Question. I noticed you didn’t shut the water from the gauge in the back. I keep seeing videos stating that’s a must. My problem is that my new refrigerator is way to heavy and definitely bigger than what we’re supposed to have, so I can’t move it. On the thinkq model, would it be fine just replacing and draining the water

Just run out of 3-4 gallons of water after install the filter, then you can get very clean and tasty water. Easy for me,thank you

Thank you, I have been using the same LG LT700P (red) for my fridge, noticed that LG, Bestbuy & Amazon stopped selling them and now sell them as a new version, it is now color green, problem is the tip is slightly diff in size and width, and filter overall is slightly heavier and doesn't lock into place.. Do you still sell the LG LT700p (Color red, same as the one in the video)?

Hello and thank you for viewing our KZbin. NO, you do not have to shut off the water. The fridge is designed to simply remove the old filter and install new filter. PLEASE flush the system and purge approximately 3 gallons of water before drinking. Thanks

We always use this Golden Icepure filter, workds well as original ones. And it really costs less, water became very clean after run 3 gallons of water first
