Great video - thanks! So it's okay to just leave the white backing paper on the gasket between the carb and the heat shield? You don't need to peel off the backing paper and actually stick the gasket to the shield?

This didn't have removable paper, no sticky material underneath. It's run fine all year since, no smoking or anything so presumably it's what was intended.

Thanks again. I just picked up a 790120 carburetor from Briggs & Stratton yesterday, and on mine, the white paper on both varieties of the carb-to-heat shield gasket that came with it peels off to reveal a sticky side on the gasket. But if it's not necessary to actually stick the gasket to the heat shield, then I won't.

Scott, my heat shield had 2 gaskets with a sticky side one with 3 holes mounts to engine side 1 with 2 holes carb to heat shield

@@riquiscott If it has removable film, I would remove it and stick it to the heat shield
