In this video I remove and replace a faulty click mechanism on the TI EDC Click Pen by Bigideadesign. This beautiful pen was created through a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2018. I also discuss a giveaway that I will be doing for two Ben Kwok stickers.

have you ever had the clicker not work? Like normally when you push the clicker down it extends the pen tip and then sits until you push the clicker again and then it retracts the pen tip. Well when I putsh the clicker down it does not click or stay. If I push the clicker all the way down it just pops back up. It is not catching at all. I tried taking it apart and seeing if anything is broke or something but I don't see anything. I see a design where something might sit that would be the device that is responsible for holding the clicker down but I don't see anything that would keep it down. No lip or anything. I am trying to figure this out because I effectively can't use the pen now.

Hey MrAsharwood! Yes I did initially have a lot of problems with the clicker mechanism. I wrote Bigidesign and they sent me lube and eventually a new mechanism. They're customer support is really great, so I'd recommend sending them an email or giving them a call if they have a customer service number.

So a year later...how are you still liking your pen? Any more troubles with the click mechanism ? Did you ever settle on a ink that you liked?

I like the pen! I’m still not in love with the clicking mechanism as it still sticks from time to time. Mostly happens when I’m fidgeting though. I’ve used a few different styles of ink but still haven’t found “The One” yet. I’m so used to roller ball style ink so anytime I use a gel I am probably putting too much pressure on the pen and so my writing is terrible. LOL. Do you own one? What inks do you like?

@@BenGeldreich yes I have the stone washed. I’ve had a tactile turn mini that I’ve been using for a few months and just cannot get to using a pen that short for long periods of writing. I ordered a mini thinking I ordered the short. After receiving it I was thinking well, I’ll get use to it but it is REALLY short. Ok for jotting down a quick note or something. Anywho I ordered the ti click after watching your video and one or two others and was sold on the refill. Haven’t settled on an ink yet though I’ve only had it for a week. I really like ballpoints so I think I’m going to try the Parker jotter refill but I’m starting to like the smoothness of rollerball. So for being SO long winded. Love your vids btw

Well sounds like you are kind of in the same boat as me when it comes to ink. Also have the copper pocket pro pen and I find it a tad short as well, so I can’t imagine using the mini. Let me know if you end up liking the jotter ink.

You should try Schmidt easyflow 9000! Easily my favorite refill

Looking into getting this pen...a lot of really good reviews, great job with the videos, did you ever figure out an Ink that you prefer? I can’t get away from the ink that comes in the pilot G2 pens do you know if there is something similar that will fit in the edc click?

Hey Russell! Not yet, I've tried a few but haven't found the "one" if you know what I mean. I recently received a copper pocket pro from Big idea Design and have enjoyed the Schneider Gelion 39 cartridge that came with it. I've also been using the Schmidt Easyflow 9000 cartridge in the Ti EDC Click pen from the video, but had one dry up on me very quickly and so not sure I can fully recommend them. I've attempted to use a few G2 gel cartridges in the click pen and managed to make a few work, but the pen becomes quite long and with some the clicking mechanism didn't work well. Monteverde Ceramic Gel are pretty comparable (and IMO much better) than Pilot G2.
