Good video there Adam, it makes you realise how flimsy these pre-built sheds are. Concrete and steel underground bunker I want lol

With shiplap you don't remove the board or replace the boards by pulling out, you instead remove the shed trim and then slide them after using metal poking tool and hammer in the existing nails to get them out of the way. Those old nails can stay there and you just nail the new boards in a slightly different location.

Personaly i would have removed the ones above probably 2 up and three Down replace 5 of them in total and would have put plastic sheeting behind the replacements .... keeps the wet stuff out for longer. it will happen again.

Nope, best thing would be to hammer the nails fully into the boards behind using a metal rod. Then they are free to be slid out the side of the shed after the side trim was removed, leaving the old nails inplace flush to the frame wood no need to remove them. Slide the new boards in place and nail them in slightly different positions to where the old nails are, you can used a hammer and chisel to tap the boards to move them if they are a bit stiff. This technique leaves the rest of the boards untouched and undamaged.

Nice repair Adam! Yes it is hard finding replacement panels especially when they have a bit of a pattern on them like mine 🙄

I’ve been wondering what I would use if I were to build from scratch. Still not sure - but as it stands I hope the shed will last a good while yet.

All My shiplap wood panels come from skips for people throwing out various wood stuff. My allotment is full of about a full Ford Transit van load of usable wood, infact I have never actually gone and payed for any wood in over 10 years. Ofcourse with reused second hand wood it isn't perfect but once its cut and painted looks as good as new.

I've got the same problem. South West side rain. Warped 16ft lengths. Can't get any from anywhere so may pin them in from inside. What makes them warp?

Was that a mini crowbar you used to get the panel off please? I need to replace several boards of my shed. Thanks for the video

This is not how to do it properly, your supposed to slide out and in the boards when the side trim has been removed and you have hit the nails fully into the wood through the old boards.

Brass small screws would have been better in case you needed to remove the panel in the future. Very nice repair regardless!!!

Hi Adam Welch i am a viewer from Algeria and i have so many questions to ask you about electrical installations. the two most urgent are related to solar installation and grounding 1. i have a distribution board with two sources of electricity, city electric and solar (2400W inverter) the thing is the two electric circuit are never in contact with each other but i have to properly ground all the electric sockets for safety . the question is do i make sepret grouding bar for the diffrent sockets or it doesn't matter or there is other solutions. 2. for my solar installation i have a pure sine wave inverter from EPEVER 2400 watt and the problem is that it is properly grounded but when i mesur from the neutral or live wire to the ground i have half of the potential (115 volt) . ps: i have 230 volt between neutral and live i heard about neutral bonding and floating neutral but it is high level for me. i hope you can help and thank you in advance.

That was difficult to watch, damaged the board above which now needs replacing, and the one below needs replacing. Couldn’t have taken more than an hour to complete the job properly. ;)
