You know...this channel can go around and help people with their vehicle's mechanical issues! What a fun and emotional rewarding idea. 🤔🤔😯

That was the plan with this channel after we made FnA Van Life but we never really had or made the time for it.

I know that you are not the first owner of your van, but I always gently hose my engine compartment and wash the areas that can get wet with dish soap and water. Do diesel engines get dirty because they use dirtier fuel, or does that have no effect? I have only owned gasoline cars, but I am the only person that I know that keeps a clean engine compartment. I used to heat up leftovers on top of my engine while driving! I've got a Tesla Model 3 now, so no more engine for me. It's great to learn that you have this second channel by watching today's awesome video on your main channel.

So cool the engine compartment gets dirty due to carbon build ups. Thanks for the tip on cleaning it up. And I'm glad you came by the channel there will be more to come.

Can I just replace the pulley vs the tensioner and pulley?
@ThisVanGirlThatVanGuy

Yes you can. I can't show you how due to the fact that I don't own this van anymore. But normally they only have 1 bolt to remove and it's a simple replacement. Good luck. 👍

I have an 05 Dodge Sprinter 5 cylinder....Do you know what size Torx bit to use to remove the Idler pulley? I think it is a T40 but I cant get it in.

The idler pulley on the 2003 is a t50. Is the one you are using to big or to small?
@brianmiller5269

@@ThisVanGirlThatVanGuy I think it is the T40 but it will have to be pounded in and its a very tight space.

@@brianmiller5269 that's ok as long as you are replacing it.

@@ThisVanGirlThatVanGuy It was a T40. But for some reason it was difficult to get out because the bit didn't want to go in the hole. But once we got it out it went back in without any problems. Damn Murphy was around for sure!
