Replacing AYC clutch pack fluid for VR4 Legnum/Galant with Evo 8+ Super AYC diff

If you have fitted a super AYC differential to your VR4, and did not drill out the hole in the subframe to allow you to refill the AYC fluid, here's a short way of getting to the fill hole without completely removing the differential.

Hey.. do you know if you can weld an ayc diff to lock it up..my ayc pump is shunted

Oof, as much as it pains me to say it yeah you could do this. Standard AYC is an open diff that could be welded like any other. However the issue is getting to it - unlike a RWD diff you can't just pop the rear cover off. It would be a full disassembly.

@@KaldekBoch aha @pains you...well ig I should ask is there an lsd gear set you can buy to put inside these ayc diffs? Ik they rely on the pump to lock up the clutches but in my country the ayc pump isn’t sooo available so that’s why I’m asking.

@@laughsandwich3842 I see. What you want to do is install an Evo RS differential which is a mechanical LSD. Lots of people say these are very good. Personally I like AYC a lot, which is why I upgraded my diff to Super AYC from the Evo 8.

@@laughsandwich3842 I'm not *super* familiar but I think there is also an LSD from the Australian made "Magna" (basically AWD Diamante from ~1996-2003) that works too. Would be much cheaper, especially considering you can buy an entire Magna for like $2,000 AUD.
