Replacing Chain & Sprockets on Honda NC750x | Heavy Duty D.I.D Chain

Loosening the rear sprocket bolts is done a lot easier with the wheel still on the bike. Put the transmission in first gear and then break both front and rear sprocket bolts. Just don't remove the rear sprocket bolts until the wheel is off of the bike. The same goes for tightening the rear sprocket bolts. But, you posted a very good and informative video. I have a ZRX1200 and did this job on it. My grandson is getting an NC750X and now I know what needs to be done to change the chain and sprockets on it. It's actually easier to do then it is my my REX. Barry

To be honest, I did that when I replaced the chain/sprockets on my bike (the Tracer), so not sure why I didn't do it on the NC haha! Thanks for the comment and kind words, really appreciate it! Glad I could be of help!

Hi SAM . mine is a Honda nc750x 2018 which way did you turn the engine sprocket bolt to loosen it was it left to loosen and right to tighten cheer for the video,

Lubing the chain every 400 miles helps a lot. My NC 700 has 54000 miles on it and just now needs it's 3rd chain and sprocket replaced

How would I do this on my DCT bike since I can't keep it in gear? Use the parking brake or wedge the rear wheel somehow? Thanks for an incredibly thorough and comprehensive video! Great work my friend. :-)

I'd say parking brake and see if you can get someone to hold the rear brake on. Crack that nut before you break the chain and that should hold it! No problem at all! Hope it helps!

To get all the torque setting info and complete service info you need the Honda Service Manual for the NC for your model year run. For example, the NC is exactly the same model (no changes year-to-year) for model years 2021-24, except for paint color, so I'll just order the 2021 manual for my 2024 NC750X since they don't show a 2023 or 2024 service manual as being available yet. The exclusive distributor for Honda Service Manuals is Helm Inc. and they list the "2016-2020 NC700X/XD NC750X/XA/XD Service Manual" for $50.

Ruler to the base of the swingarm half way between the sprocket and swingarm pivot is normally a good place to start!

Can you recommend a torque wrench for this bike? I have tools, but time I did better than "tight plus half a turn" 😅

😂😂 plus half a turn is the best torque wrench! Unless you have an impact gun, then a maximum of 3 ugga duggas! On a serious note, I have 2. Bought both from screwfix as the Amazon ones I'd bought in the past broke too quick. One is a half inch drive and one is smaller quarter inch for the smaller bolts. The 1/4 is smaller too in size so it's easier to get into spots. Both are Magnusson I think.. Super cheap but great

Thank you! The Honda NC750X chain kit comes with a longer chain, I had to break off 6 links, so I wouldn't recommend it.

Don't know how you managed to push the rivet out of the old chain, without filing the splayed end of the rivet down until it is flush with the chains side plate. But anyhow good vid.

BEWARE OF CHEAPER CHAIN AND SPROCKET SETS.I bought what I thought was a genuine DID chain and realised it wasn't when it needed constant adjustments. A good copy but inferior quality.The guy on Ebay denied selling non DID products but I told him I knew it was non genuine when the next one I bought needed less frequent adjustment. It also knackered my new sprocket set which were genuine
