Well done Jenn and Chris for helping and for Gus being Gus and being cute and adorable! I'm sure it was a bit of a struggle lifting the reasonably heavy CV axle above your head while being pregnant. FYI: if I replace a part on a car on one side I always do the other even if its not as bad, its just more economic sense to do both at once, no point in replacing the bushing on the left side of the swaybar and then not doing the right at the same time, it will flog out months later and then you have to do it all again. Its all a goo idea to take a wire wheel to all that ruse on the wheel housing and spray it down with rust converter it will just cause troubles later on, and replace all rusty bolts and nuts with new ones. To bend cotter pins you use thin needle nose pliers rather than side-cutters. Also when replacing light globes upgrade to the LED equivalent not halogen they will just go out again. Please do something with the clear coat on the hood of the Rav4 😬

Great video, and a smart trick I learned from a friend and mechanic. When you are working on the brakes hydrolics, depress the brakepedal and lock it in place before you start. That way you block the master cylinder whitch will let no fluid thru the brakelines. There"ll be next to no spilled brakefluid on the ground. Works great:)
@somerandomguy38684 ай бұрын
It's all good, brake hoses can be a pain in the behind, especially the first time, some times they change out no problem other times they fight you every step of the way, everyone hates doing brakes

Jennifer, I have to say that for your first time doing this, you did REMARKABLY well, especially being 7 months pregnant to boot (oh, and by the way, you have a beautiful singing voice too)!!! Don't worry that Chris had to come and help you a number of times-there's not a thing wrong with that given that you've never done anything like that before. Everyone has to start somewhere in learning a new thing. Remember, Chris did'nt always know how to do that either. He had to learn at some point earlier in his life just the same as you are doing now. I drive an 18-wheeler for a living. I absolutely was NOT born knowing how to drive a tractor-trailer, or anything about the trucking industry/lifestyle for that matter. I was 35 years old when I first went to trucking school to learn to drive a truck (I'm almost 56 now), and when I started trucking school in late 2004, early 2005, I had never even been inside of a big rig before, let alone ever driven one. I knew nothing about it. It took me a month and a half just to learn it well enough for me to pass all of the tests to get my California Class A commercial driver license, and then it took another 3-4 years of A LOT of trial and error on the road to learn the ins and outs of the business and what works and what does'nt. And even today, some 2 decades down the line, though I''m better at it now than I was in those early days just after the turn of the 21st century, I'm still learning things every day. I truly believe that in life, you NEVER stop learning, until the day you go into your grave-that's how we grow as human beings. Please keep at it, Jen-the more you practice on cars over time, the more you'll, again, learn what works and what does'nt, and the better you'll get. You can do this-I have faith in you!!!!

I feel this. I love working with wood in my shop, but when it comes to working on cars, I feel like Jen. Very intimidating. At least you have a great backup/teacher. I'm always worried I'll break something and the "little" job becoming bigger than I can handle when taking on any jobs for my car/truck. I never have any good luck when working on my car or truck.
