to add to this, on a 08 6 speed model with the 6.7 cummins, there is 3 bolts on the fire wall that need to be removed instead of the reservoir , you can get to the bottom one by removing the computer, un hook your battery pull the two plugs from the computer, there is 3 phillips heads holding it on, once pulled you can see the bottom one. and they fail to mention there is 2 levers for the door actuators on the black box with a rod connecting them, do not try to remove the rod or it will break, pull the entire lower lever out of the box, it snaps in and out.

Once the black box is off from under the dash, it's self explanatory to open up the black box to remove all the items mentions. Sorry for the late reply, but good in case someone else is reading this. This part is easy.

I replaced that broken door on my 2004 Dodge. 40 min version,,,,, Take out the fan motor where passenger feet are (under glove box) its only 3 screws. Then take glove box off and behind that is a plastic wall. Cut (2) 6" vertical lines and peel back the wall (you can push the plastic wall back to normal when your done). tadaaa, exposed motor and door mount. Unscrew door motor (3) screws and drop out the door where the fan was. I did break off the protective grate (you will know when you see it) its un-needed. Take new door and wiggle it back up the fan hole in to place. Horrible quick description but i really swapped that door out in less than 1 hour. Might be tuff if you have big hands... but it is doable.

I got a quote the other day to replace the evaporator core in my wife 3/4 ton and I thought it was too high. I figured I could do it myself as I've done in the past with older trucks and cars. I'll be taking it back to that shop soon and hope their price still stands. How designs this stuff? Ridiculous!

I have a question when you said you replaced the condenser inside the box I'm confused I thought the condenser is outside in the front of the truck

Good catch. Towards the end of the video, I meant to say evaporator core. The condenser is in front of the radiator.

Same on my end. 2006 Dodge ram 1500. 4.7 Liter 2x4 Quad cab. Watched the video a number of times followed all steps, Dropped steering column, removed all the bolts, trim shown and it wiggles a bit but not moving! Anyone have any insight on this? Video seems to skip ahead to where its pulled forward and out of the way so thinking something got missed that's obviously very important. 117 out this weekend here in az and be nice to see it done. Thanks to anyone who can help!

Thanks. I replaced the evaporator core because it had a small freon leak. While I was already there with the dash board removed, I replaced the broken recirculating AC fan door, and even though the heater core was ok, I decided to just replace it for shits and giggles. 😀 (I wanted to replace any thing that could go bad under the dash).

I'm just curious since you didn't show it in your video but how nasty dirty was your evaporator since it wasn't until 2016 when one of the dipshits designers or engineers at Chrysler finally decided that maybe a cabin air filter was a good idea? Mine's not a 2006 with not even close to that amount of mileage but I'm starting to wonder if my evaporator might be on the beginning stages of being plugged. I'm not sure I you're familiar with the place, maybe you are since you own a Cummins, or at least did... I'm not sure if you still do or not but a place called Geno's Garage has an aftermarket cabin filter upgrade that I'm seriously thinking about upgrading to only for the sake of how much of a bitch it is to gain access to the evaporator even if all you wanna do is clean it.... Nice vid, man. Really makes the internet and smartphones badass!!

do I need to have the system discharged? I believe I have to replace only my heater core. noticed just a drip under the glove box only when ac is on the other day. I figured I would change everything as you did

Yes you will have to discharge the ac, you can also disconnect the heater and that will allow you to have cold air, I repaired my truck yesterday and also posted a video and I will post another video if you go to your local hose mart you can buy a 5/8 cut off valve and put them on both heater hoses and that will also fit the problem if you need cold air.

Who is this WE?...............I only see one man doing all of the work. Since you had the HVAC Case out, you should have replaced the Mode 1 & 2 doors along with all of the Blend Doors.
