Welcome back to another episode of restoring my 1956 Bedford's Green Goddess Fire Engine; this time we are tackling the headlights, equipment locker, pump control and cab lights. I never knew there could be so many variants of bulb!
This video will cover how to replace the bulbs, how to upgrade them to LED, what bulbs you need to buy and where you can buy them from.

Be interested to know what type of bulb and from where you got it for the search light. We spent an age looking for them and with no success

@@lxtechmangood9503 I scoured the internet for hours searching for everything from serial numbers to a possible conversion/upgrade kit. I eventually found a company selling them for a different use for over £20 a bulb. The video will be out this coming Friday and I will have a link to the website I purchased from, and the exact specs of the bulb you need. I also replace my broken glass lens with a custom plexiglass one from another company (on the cheap). Hope to see you on the next video.

Excellent news I even tried francis searchlights but they had no list of suppliers. We thought Bosch made them. But again no luck. Looking forward to hearing the info and seeing the type and the results 🙂

@@southcoast999 Sure thing, thanks for the suggestion. I will try and get this out in the next few weeks. In general, they like to flood (fuel wise) so that is something to check in the meantime.

Mate, you made a simple bulb change into something totally unnecessary. There is absolutely no need to remove the front bumper if it has been installed correctly. I have worked on these for countless years and restored or helped restore many. The idea of those headlamps is so you can change the bulb with a single screwdriver. A simple 5 minute job if that. What you are showing and telling people is completely wrong. And those BPF headlamp bulbs are £3.50 tops. You were robbed.

There’s always one know-it-all isn’t there? Can’t wait to see your series on making repairs to a GG, sure it will be even better than this one with that condescending and arrogant tone you’ve got going there. Doubt you’ll bother though because everyone should know everything about a 60 year old vehicle and besides it probably means pulling your finger out of your arsehole. Keep up the good work @PerksAuto
