Excellent -- neat, tidy cool and quiet. To me most of the time this is the best air cooled fan and CPU tower configuration - cool air in the front, out the back and top. I thought I was the only one left on the planet still using an optical drive, nice to see im not the only one. Im one for having the most functionality I can get, only thing missing in this build is an SD card reader, but he may not need one. Also if your recipient is not a tinkerer the air tower cooler is the best option - cool quiet and trouble free.

When you removed the copper heat spreader from the NVMe drive I almost passed out. Don't do that youtube viewer! The "sticker" is more conductive than the thermal pad, and is sometimes essential for proper heat transfer of the drive! I would understand if the sticker had no thermal conductivity, but the ones with copper in them are needed to properly disperse the heat before being transferred to the air/ motherboard heatsink. This is a similar reason to why we don't delid every CPU then attach a heatsink, plus the copper sticker provides an actual even surface to attach the thermal pad onto for better transfer.

I just build a PC with the exact same case, just a better (evga 3080) gpu. The case is great! Love it. I would recommend putting the Noctua fans in the front and the stock on top, seeing as top fans make less of a difference. Plus you really don't need pretty braided sleeve cables for the cpu cable, seeing as it is tucked right back behind the mobo and the top fans cover everything.

What's so crazy about an optical drive? I put Blu-Ray drives in a lot of my builds, especially work stations. It is getting harder and harder to find decent cases that support external drives, but there are still some out there. Some cases have versions with and without them. Usually I'll get one of those adapters where you can put a slim drive in a full sized drive bay with the extra space used for SD card readers and a couple USB ports if the case only has one drive bay.

You dont need to remove the M.2 sticker tho. The copper already functions as a tiny heatsink and besides, NAND likes to run a little hotter

I think the way you do your builds holding your camera makes your content very different from the rest and more interesting as if i was there

0:49 Imagine... Custom motherboards. You pay for the bells and whistles you want, don't get the ones you don't.

I'd not put that extra top exhaust in front of the cpu cooler, it's just removing air from the front intake without doing anything, you want it to actually go through the cpu cooler before exiting the case. It'll probably only be a couple degrees, but hey, a couple degrees and less noise generated is typically a good thing. Plus you save some money.

I've been watching all your videos constantly and I love them. I actually am building my first pc because your videos inspired me to build one and taught me so much about how to.

I still use the DVD-RW drive and have some old Games still on Optical Disks That has kept me from replacing my 12 year old Thermaltake case between the 5.25 Drive Bays, a 3.5 External drive bay for a Card reader, and 7 HDD drive bays with 1 being a side panel access Hotswap bay plus 6x120mm and a 200mm Fan for good air flow.

I've been using my Aurora-r4 since 2013. Still has all the original parts except the hard drive and the graphics card. Never had any problems with this PC. It's built like a beast. Well except that I have to squeeze down hard on the power button to turn it on if I do a hard shut down. But aside from that, never had any issues and it is still running perfectly.

I think it has to do with the weight of the chassis. It is heavy and it sits directly on hardwood flooring so there's virtually no vibrations that can damage its components.

I use optical drives regularly for long term backups of pictures. I also have a CD player in my car so I make mix CDs.

Do not forget to mention that this BluRay writes M-Disc! M-Disc is a great way to backup and store data for the long term. I bought an M-Disc-writer 3 weeks ago and it's awsome.
