Model numbers for the upgraded light fixtures? I may wanna actually get some. As for the ceiling fan, the appeal in my opinion has to do with practicality. I believe ceiling fans are used when it’s not practical (or allowed) to have a mini-split, portable ac, or an hvac upgrade. That’s why I have a ceiling fan in my bedroom as it’s cheap and my neighborhood has a rule against window/portable ac units and installing a mini split is too much for my budget.

7:33 It's best to have a ceiling fan in a room because air conditioning alone isn't enough to comfortably cool your room.
@nics-systems-electric
@nics-systems-electric 3 ай бұрын
You obviously do not have adequate air-conditioning in that case. Fans don't create cold air they just move air around I can tell you from experience fans are not equal to air air conditioning. I've been in houses without air-conditioning and only fans and it is not pleasant. However air conditioned spaces without fans are comfortable. If you have air conditioning like I do the fan just makes it uncomfortable having air blowing around.

What are you going to do with your fire alarm system if you move houses? Would you just instruct the new owners on how to operate it or would you take all the components with you? Also, I noticed that you do some alarm stuff at schools. Are you certified for that? If so, how difficult was it to get the certification? Is this your job? Sorry, one more thing, where do you get all of the alarm system components from? Do you order them all used? I looked on Ebay and control panels aren't cheap. How do you afford all of this? I just discovered your channel today and so far, I really enjoy your content, definitely going to subscribe. Keep up the great work! :)

The average house cost here is 1.2 million Canadian so when a house is already owned it would be silly to sell it the house will always stay in the family and with the cost of a home and the cost of living it is next to impossible for any young people to buy or rent spaces so I will likely not be leaving anytime soon as I have my own area in the basement

Are those the LED fixtures with no replacement bulbs? Sure they look cool, but if it fails, the entire thing has to be replaced and you end up with mismatched lights over time! Why not install fixtures with bulbs? They bulbs they sell are LED anyway, and that way you can customize the color temperature to your liking as well! Lots of ugly dome shaped “boob lights” out there, but there are definitely some nice fixtures too.

Nic that's fine to use the air conditioning. But here in California we get extremely dry heat that air conditioning and ceiling fan are needed. Plus ceiling fans help the power bill go down. The only time you don't hook it up. Is when there is no main ground wire. It's been required to be hooked up since the early 2000s.
