Definitely excited for this new build. Only dislike I have is that mid 8's goal. I say you guys go for a consistent low 7 or high 6 second car. With the right V8 and a full tube chassis big tire car that should be pretty achievable.

The 4L80E is just a longer, heavier, overdrive version of the TH-400. It uses the same first three gear ratios but adds a 0.75:1 overdrive.

It actually may be too short for a glide and a year vendors...there's not a lot of room between the engine bay and the rear end...lol

Stock for stock that civic is longer than a fox body mustang. The driveshaft in a fox with a powerglide is roughly 44 inches long. The longest gear venders is 11in qnd they make a 3 inch shorty, I don't rember which cletus has but there is plenty of room. It's going to have a low gear especally on that tall big tire and it's going to be a turbo car so it's going to have a tight converter. We drive turbo non over drive or lock up th400 trans on the street all over the place, hell most cars on drag week don't have overdrive or lock ups so that will be a non issue.

Go find a 4l80 that will live with any sort of reliability behind 1500 hp, and price the ones they claim can handle it there big money, like 10k with no converter, and there heavy as hell. You could always just go drop over 25,000 dollers on the same lock up th400 that cleetus just bought lol.

It fits and he’s cutting down his HP per cylinder. What’s your recommendation a straight 6 that’s longer than 4 cylinders instead of just wider like a v8. I love the 4’s and wanted to see a 6 but and 8 will fit their needs properly. They’re not v8 people so an LS is a proven and well researched route with endless options. Also it’s big wheel so they’ll need some weight on the front and a lot of instant torque heading to the back.

All y’all are amazing guys! I have a 95 civic couple with a body kit was missing side skirts when I bought it so made some myself in a shop before I painted it again. Man I was so inlove with that car it’s actually the car in my KZbin picture but it had a single cam d16z6 and blew up racing outta town smh. But moral of story my next car will be a Honda I’m so inlove with Hondas that’ll never change and your videos inspire me even more.
