Replacing Old Wiring & New Junction boxes | My First Renovation

Today I'm removing the old wiring in the ceiling and fixtures and replacing it with new Romex.Need a new electrical layout? No problem! This isn't just a swap, we are completely redoing the circuit layout. Let get rid of all those fire hazards in the attic while we're at it. I swear the circuits made no sense. One room had plugs belonging to three different breakers. It was a spaghetti mess.

Just be glad it’s not Knob and Tube. Don’t you hate the old fabric coated wire, it just disintegrates in your hand.

This stuff was wax or oil impregnated. It held together pretty well, thankfully.

I usually put up some music to make working alone more fun: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Zqa5fYF7ebyCsLMsi=YIWohkZueULLrPaE. There is some music that is just fun, but the DJ vids have some colorful words, just FYI. As an electrician I find that 2x4 pathway a bit funky and unnecessary but as long as everything is clean and organized. Props to working with your dad on the project, I am doing just the same.
