I mean we are already spinning around a star and that doesn't affect anyone so it would be considered normal? Would be strange if someone was shocked to see the sun. "Damn henry does this shit stays up in the sky all day?"

Nature even does cosmic horror better than us. Like seriously, these things are literal anomalies that break so many laws of our reality as we know it. They warp space and dilute time to their will, they spin as fast as the speed of light, carry an unfathomable amount of weight and exist on mind breaking scales of size. They uncaringly consume everything they can reach, plunging all into inescapable darkness condensing everything into the smallest imaginable point of light and infinite gravity. The scariest part? Even after everything else in the universe is LONG gone, black holes wont even have burned through a fraction of their lifespans. They are virtually eternal, unlike everything else in the universe, and nothing can escape them, not even light itself. The average black hole lasts for 10^67 years, in 1s & 0s thats *10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000 years,* far longer than our universe's lifespan, let alone that of you or me. If you were an immortal being and fell into a black hole, you would essentially be in there for an eternity. They do all of this without knowing of our existence, let alone caring at all whether we understand it or not, whether it consumes us or not. The real universe makes lovecraft seem like a children's book author by comparison. Our scariest fiction absolutely pales in comparison to the humbling and unfathomably horrifying reality of the universe's cruelest creations.

no, the black thing that you see is not the black hole itself, the physical blackhole is supposed to be volumenless. The black thing IS the event horizon.

@@vinikk77 It is 100% true, in an average sized galaxy like Milky Way, there are millions of other black holes but only one supermassive black hole, so, a supermassive black hole is extremely huge. Scientists do not even know how they become so massive.

It's likely that some of them have been formed by eating other black holes and matter, getting bigger as a result.

It's believed that ultramassive black holes such as TON 618 and Phoenix A were around shortly after the creation of the universe. Who knows if possibly these black holes could be even bigger present day in actuality...
