Hi Sean, at 1:26 in the video, when you show the pull start housing cover, before you remove the pull start assembly, why is the cotter pin reversed? When you put it back together at 2:02 you insert the cotter properly. ???
@flinch6223 жыл бұрын
I think you mean 6:02, but yes: that pin does affect pawl travel and... he reversed it on re-assembly.

FK G thanks. It’s more of a temp fix until you get another pull start. Seeing that he cord will now be shorter the pull handle will sag.

Thanks for the video. Do you have others related to Stihl products?

After cleaning the engine of my FS55R and putting all parts back, when I tried to start the pull start doesn't engage the engine. What have I done wrong? Thanks in advance.
@seanc10736 жыл бұрын
Benny Go one thing I’ve found is in the center of the spring there’s a little notch that sometimes doesn’t get engaged.

Thanks Sean, I'll try.

@@Nicaso16 Hey, if you're still looking to find out what you did wrong, I can tell you. There is a small piece of plastic under that little spring clip that is missing when you put it back together. It engages onto the engine flywheel when you put the cover back on the motor. Without it (and you can clearly see it missing when you put it back together) it won't work. Let me know and I'll send you the picture of what you're missing.

So..if I put the wheel on correctly it should feel pressure when spinning counter. I got nuthin. I can spin for days in either direction and can't get tension.
@seanc10737 жыл бұрын
thevintagefetcher sorry so late but yes you should have tension on the wheel when you try to turn it I think counter clockwise. The end of the coil spring needs to sit in a slot that is on the plastic wheel.

You left out the part where you went and watched a video on how to replace the rope. Because that's NOT how you do it. I'm guessing this was a "funny" video. Something to get people frustrated when they try your method.
