For some reason it took me 10 times of watching this to understand how the rope wasn't just getting wrapped around the pulley. I understand it now and this is probably the best thing I've ever seen on KZbin but man, that confused my brain. This will save me hours everyday doing lawnmowers! As soon as I put gas in the tank and pulled the starter rope the first time, it was left dangling on the floor. Was so glad I watched this. Just took it off, sprayed it with some silicone, pulled it a few times to loosen up the spring and it was fixed. So, I donated a little something for your trouble. You learn something new everyday! thanks for the video and great explanation. Sometimes when I don't feel like taking off the pull starter ( I hate when the gas tank is attached), I'll pull the cord out slightly and pour a little lube through the hole where the string comes out. Give it a couple light pulls to spread the lube. Works great if the spring does not need to be adjusted.

Rescued a weed eater leaf blower from the curbside. First thing wrong was no return spring. Bought one online and today I was Fighting with it trying to get to reel up all the rope. Thought to myself, before I go crazy trying to do this there must be something on youtube. Thanks Steve you made an impossible task very easy.

I want to take a moment the thank, this was driving me crazy. I am a city boy, who just moved to Florida. Don't know much about small engines, but have learned a lot from you... it is fixed and didn't cost me a dime. Will be send you a beer soon! Thank you for what you have taught me! You get me to replace gas lines in a chainsaw that cost me a $1 and got it working for A $20 bill. Keep the saloon open! I am a customer for life.

Hey, TY so much for the very well choreographed video's! I have a learning disability, and I like how you cut out figgiting like other non-pro-cameramen videos on other YT channels. I like that you didn't figgit with flipping the mower, nor we're you wasting video time with walking to the yard. I would give you an A+ on this one video, I could follow and fix my own mower, here's to celebrating my victory of self fixing my own small home engines and machines. OH!!! My goodness, I just noticed you even categorized your videos into department type orginized, very nice! My comments come from working as an accountant and orginizated and time management are essentials to being successful. And no, I take back the A+, you deserve an A+++ TY again!! 😉

I am currently watching ALL of your videos. You are a well of knowledge. I have learned more about chainsaw/lawnmower maintenance in 10 hours than in the last 10 years. Thank you for all of this.
