those rakes have sure stood the test of time. We run a 256 too. You forgot to tell us what the date was. We are still waiting on dry weather up here in ohio. Keep up the good videos

that is very true & we actually still have one & they do do a better job raking hay & now they are Vermeer's, I do alot of haylage here & really need to buy one especially to keep the dirt out (-: & man they are high though!!

When you are raking hay in smaller fields this rake does a better job and is a lot easier to manoeuvre that one of those big V rakes.

hi Scott, I'm sure farmers across the land want to emulate your operation. when we see video of you baling we'll believe you, until then try to spend less time in the hefier barn with your fly down.

Dang are you guys farming back in the 70's or just square baling everything this year!! Them rakes are obelisk, if your going to round bale hay you better get you a new Holland duravee 1225 12 wheel rake to get some hay baled :-) I better come & show you boys how to put up some hay!! I just baled almost 100 bales today & hauled it & wrapped it all in 1 day & made haylage out of it.... man your way is very slow & very old fashion :-( Better get a baler with net wrap too :-) alot faster trust me... & keeps water & snow out, you don't ever need a barn & all the expenses that goes along with it in half the time! You might as well combine your wheat cuz it's too late to make hay out of it farmer John....

+Scott Neill You get less dirt in the hay with a bar rake...A commercial hay farmer in my area that is all he uses... They use what works for them...Don't be negative... Oh Yea just bought a 1022 10 wheel NH(made by Sitrex) same rake ,different color
@Farmerjon96608 жыл бұрын
This little rake makes a great windrow for the baler. It might take a little longer but it's better than maneuvering our 14 wheel rake in a 5-7 acre field.

+Farmerjon9660 there's never a shortage of people to tell you what you need, or how to spend your money. We keep an old New Idea bar rake too, most horse people don't like the dirt in their hay you get with a wheel rake.

+Scott Neill Bar rakes are not obsolete. Several manufactures sell them right now such as Vermeer. If you buy a tandem site-up you can rake just as much hay just as fast. Wheel rakes are cheap to buy, do their best work in a straight line, and leave the hay much dirtier than other rakes. Net warped or not hay quality is much improved by storing hay inside.
