You guys are like me and my wife trying to do something that seems simple but turns out not to be. 😂 Looks fine...no one will notice anything.

It looks better than before, even it does not seem perfect to Lucy, it's still an improvement over the original lettering.

You got 15k subscriber with this level of expertise? I'm astonished. Meanwhile, I get customers telling me "I saw it on youtube and it seems easy to do!"

I couldn't agree more. I've seen letters in totally the wrong place, super glued on, painted around etc. I think we are witnessing the boundless optimism of the motoring public and their finely honed money saving skills.😁

For next time, the white foam surround that comes with the badges is designed to put the letters in the correct place, so you stick that to the car with masking tape, then put the letters in the gaps. Job done! :)

Also, I think it might have been a good idea to replace all of the letters at the same time so that they all match. Love the RR!

We were planning it and had both ready to go but for some reason 'RANGE' was pristine and matches perfectly. I have a feeling someone replaced it and never got round to finishing the whole job!

Maybe use some painter’s tape to mark the boundaries of the old letters before removing them. Then placing the new letters within the boundaries should be pretty straightforward.

Even easier…..use a hairdryer to soften the glue. Then use wd40 to dissolve the glue, don’t bother with ‘glue remover’, wd40 does the same job for cheaper

nice idea!

@@MoreGeorge it’s a solvent. It dissolves things like oil, and glue.

Great job. I need to do this on my Discovery but im too scared in case i mess it up.

You were quite correct in abandoning the template, they are normally way off as they don't account for the curvature of the bonnet, nor do they match the spacing of the original lettering. Good idea to use the outline from the old letters but don't assume that even those were correct. Good attempt but they still don't look straight.....ha, made me laugh so thanks for that, at least.😂

Nice RR , Fishing line I did mine in about 2 mins after measuring the distance from the lip of the bonnet then put a piece of masking tape along the bonnet so my lettering went on straight , trouble is I sold mine recently and thinking I made a mistake as I really miss it

great tip! thanks for watching

Fishing line is the best thing to remove the letters. Takes about 2 minutes to remove all the letters. The old glue was a pig to remove.

Tar and glue remover or IPA 99% alcohol would've cleaned off the old glue and if your wanting to do paint correction you should've taken the letters off then do the correction then put the new letters on And yes there on squint but your right nobody will notice it

Thanks for that!
