Well...it is possible. I think you'd have to spread the chain stays wider to fit it. But you'd have to replace so much stuff that the question is, is it even worth it?

Hey RJ! Why did you push out on the shifting lever before starting to shift the gears? Wouldn’t you normally want to have the shifter in the corresponding position that the derailleur is in?

I pulled it back to make it easier to insert the cable. I pushed it forward again before attaching it to the derailleur. That is the corresponding position.

Can you actually show how to adjust Huret derailleur? There are other youtubers who show how to clean and rebuild Huret, but it looks like no one explains how to adjust it - especially with a model with a long cage.

Reall useful video. I have a Peugeot Premiere with this kind of derailleur mounting. I am looking to replace it but it seems all Sachs Huret derailleurs advertised are the type that slot round the main axle. Do you know if I can remove the slotted part and thus mount in the same way as the video?

Yes, that's what i meant actually. If you was to remove the hanger from the pivot would this effectively mean that you can fit it directly to the frame without the hanger as is the case with the Peugeot Premiere.?

I can't tell you. I don't know the specific derailleur, and I don't know the specific frame. I don't know what kind of hanger is on that frame. You will have to research or try it.

The previous owner probably swapped out the Mountech because they were prone to failure in the upper jockey.
