The lower bolt of the shock on driver side must go from outside to inside otherwise the drag link may be locked by the bolt when driving. That's very dangerous.

Also recommended to use anti sieze paste on the bolts
@thereviewer41734 жыл бұрын
Anti-seize is not needed at all. Just do not over-torque them and you’ll be fine. On the Cascadia, the front shocks require 140 ft lbs. The drive shocks need 165 ft lbs. In general, all bolt threads (at the tip) on the truck should be lubricated with 1-2 drops of motor oil before torquing them.

Just trying to straighten up a myth. Gas shocks contain oil. The gas is there to prevent the oil from foaming inside the tube under heavy usage and to prevent loss of dampening.
@jsol1342 жыл бұрын
I agree gas shocks do have oil inside.

So because of the shocks your tires wear out. I just replaced my tires not to long ago and they are in need of replacement again. I was thinking of replacing my front shocks because the cabin is a little bouncy. 2011 Isuzu NPR

100 foot lbs, not 800 foot pounds... Just replaced all of my shocks, I had nothing to break the bolts loose, so off to the TA, it took the tech 4 hours to break those 14 bolts loose. He asked who installed these? I said you guys, as I had the same issue before. ;-)

Get one from Home Depot that can do (at least) 1400 ft lbs of “nut-busting” torque. You also want a 1/2” drive as that is the most common size of sockets for heavy duty use like a semi truck.

After 100 000 miles of use they are gone, leaking or not leaking Damage to shocks may not be visible - that's why 70 000 miles is the key number for replacing shocks.
