When you get uneven wear on the inside of both tires, many times it is a problem of having a 55° steering radius instead of 45°s and moving to fast with the tires at extreme lock.

I'm a owner operator of taxi in the UK. I've just watched and been entertained by a video about truck tyres and shock. I'll spread the word about Monroe 😉 I watching this while cooking for my wife. Yep I was entertained. If you are open to suggestions or requests for topics: Could you tell us about your time in radio? Also what are some of the most unusual or memorable people you have met in the trucking life? What's are favourite stretches of road to drive for scenery? Do you ever stop to watch a sunset or a sunrise, and what's the most random thing you've ever seen in the middle of the road? All the best to you. Chris & Claire.

I worked in radio for 20 years. Dj in country, rock, and just about everything. My wife and I owned a station in Wyoming for 13 years. Too many unusual people to mention here. I’ll try to do a video on it. Definitely the weirdest thing I’ve seen in the road is a full sized bull with giant horns

Nice advice on shocks. I just had to replace gear box steers and drag link. Gonna grab some shocks when I find them! Was thinking about trying the new fox gas from Raneys

14 to 25 weeks waiting period.Look at the way they are designed.Dirt is going to be trapped in the bottom of the shock.They fvcked up their design just like Road King.

I drove a company 2016 Cascadia and it had 240k miles on the stock shocks. The truck rode like an International. Another driver told me to tell them to install new shocks. It rode like a new truck. I drive a 2021 Volvo 760 now. At 200k miles, I’m asking for new shocks.
@ClutchTrucker

I always do new shocks with new tires. Otherwise I follow the rule of 100K for steers and a max of 200K for drives

I wonder if Munroe gas shocks have changed any in the past couple of years? It seems to be difficult cross-referencing other brands for my 2020 cascadia. Particularly interested in Gabriel but it's difficult to find the correct ones while with Monroe it is not.

Not a fan of Monroe. I think the new drive shocks I put on just over a month ago are already shot. Wanted Gabriel, but all that was available was crappy Monroe

@@ClutchTrucker I have a BF Goodrich steers and have done about 124000 miles on those. I am noticing a wave like wear when I feel the tire with my hand on the passenger side outer side of the tire. Is this an alignment issue or a problem with the shock absorbers? Driver side steer tire is fine though.

I just heard about Sachs from FB lately and now you said the same ...I was planning to get my next oem set from Freightliner.....but after what you said why not to try them ....where can I find Sachs and what part# for Cascadia steer/ drive ....thank you for the info 🙏
@ClutchTrucker
@ClutchTrucker 3 жыл бұрын
Don’t know the part number. I’ve been having a harder time finding Sachs lately. I’ve found the alliance to be just as good. If u can find a number on what you have now, google that, and u can usually find a crossover reference number for other manufacturers

the worst truck shock absorbers I've installed on my old cascadia after 15k miles of oil leak. I bought myself a new 2020 cascade truck after 35k, changed both front shock absorbers and oil leaked again. I called the support service simply culturally sent to the ass. today the mileage on the truck is 120k my shock absorbers feel like a million passed. I DO NOT RECOMMEND SPENDING MONEY on this company monroe 👎👎👎👎👎

You have to make sure you install them correctly.They only go on one way.There are slight differences on the sides.If you put one side on like the top or bottom and you have to bend the shock to get it into the next bracket it is on wrong.

@@allywilkeforsenate I took the truck brand new with mileage of 31 (not 31 thousand miles but only 31 miles) miles only. there were their factory shock absorbers. I think the factory itself knows how to install correctly.
