Replacing sway bar links GM GMC Chevy Sierra

I replaced these in my customers driveway during lunch!! Probably only took 30 minutes or so to get it done start to finish. If you have any questions feel ree to ask!

The paper in the moog box says at curb height 2 full turns past flush. About 2-3 threads exposed.

So, Ordered same model no from Amazon. $8.95 each. Arrived the next day. They are made in CHINA. Called Moog he said the nut should be a mechanical locking nut, mine are not! They spin all the way up the bolt and back off all the way with ease. I used Locktite on the threads. Moog customer service also said 110 foot pounds of torque, I just went to 3 threads exposed. Great video. I used a saw to cut the old bolts as well.

Thanks for the tips. I found the torque spec on two different websites. I have to work on mine also. Stabilizer Shaft Link Nuts - 1500 and 2500 Series 17 lb-ft (23 N·m). I found these posted for a 2008 model. They look the same yours.

FWIW From the shop manual (this generation, 1500 series): Stabilizer Shaft Link Nut Tighten: 23 N.m (17 lb ft)

Thank you, I would say yes, my truck has a slight suspension lift so its easier for me to fit underneath. as long as you can fit under your Tahoe you wont need to raise it to do the actual repair. good luck, let me know if you have any other questions

I replaced the sway bar links with moog links on my 95 suburban. I’ve had them on for About a month, and they already are mushroomed. In my opinion moog is crap! Ya know , “made in the USA used to really mean something a long time ago, Companies now are so hell bent on making a quota & a buck these days, they fail to make a quality product, or for that matter , taking pride in their workmanship.

I too was deeply disappointed with the Moog that snapped after 21 days of installation. Easy going use. Heard it pop after slowly rolling over a speed bump. Now I have to get on the snow to put in the replacement.
