Great video thanks brother. Exalent job brother. I would have had my boy do it with me watching him. He probably would have complained that I didn't let him use the air tools. Like you said not always going to have the luxury. My x complained about me buying tools once. I got a tool box from the Mac man the next week. She really went off. I told her all the tools I'm getting needed a place to stay. She did work and I won't get into why I did some of the stuff I did. But you just showed everyone that some jobs are not that hard. Wire brush and some CRC penetrating oil maybe a little heat on some up here. Great how to video is were I am going with this. Keep up the great work see you in the next video thanks again brother.

Ratcheting wrenches have got to be one of the best inventions of all time in my opinion. Every time i use them i remember how much harder shit was to do with normal wrenches. And how much time they save.

If your doing both loosen them both at the same time so your not fighting the torsion of the sway bar.

I think the links should be torqued to about 20 foot lbs so the bushings have give and are not completely squished?
@CamaroTime
@CamaroTime 3 жыл бұрын
Actually the torque is not so they are not squished. That is just the recommended rating so as to not strip/break, or have the nuts back off. Thanks for watching

Thanks for the video! I can get to mine by just turning my wheels. Do I need to jack it up to remove load or anything? Or can I just change them out if I can get to them? Thank you
@CamaroTime
@CamaroTime Жыл бұрын
You will need to get the load off of it. Because if you don't there will be pressure on the end links from the sway bar. And "if" you get them out you will not be able to move the sway bar to get them back in. Thanks for watching

Great how to video! Some sway bar links can be an absolute pain in the butt. I usually just cut them off with a torch or a cutting wheel. Sway bar links are very crucial to tire wear and that’s why I tell people they need to replace them. Some shops say that it’s no big deal if they are broke or “it’s just an annoying noise” but that’s just not true. For example Taking a turn at 30 mph with a broken sway bar link is equivalent to taking a turn at 60 mph. If that Tahoe was here in Indiana the sway bar would be rusted in two at the link and the link would also be rusted in two. Hand tools wouldn’t cut it in Indiana. Must be nice living somewhere that you don’t have to deal with much rust! Lol Are those the original ball joints? I have done 100’s of ball joints on Tahoe’s over the years. I only ask that because the upper ball joints didn’t have a grease fitting. I
@CamaroTime
@CamaroTime 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks Brian. Yes , I am very lucky to live in the non-rustbelt part of the US...LOL Yes sir. They are original ball joints. If I was at work, I would hit it with the impactor. Or if it was bad or stubborn then the cutting wheel comes out. LOL But I try to do these as most everyone else would in their own yard. On the ground and with basic stuff. Thanks for watching

LOL......That was actually the wife. We have a HUGE pin oak tree in the back yard. And because of the rain over the past 3 months and the cold, we could not rake all the leaves. So it was dry and warm enough. But rather than rack or blow, she used the lawn mower to get them in small piles which we moved today.....Thanks for watching
