Just got mine 100% buttoned up after starting an 12v socket install a couple of weeks ago. My lord.... F those fairings. After I sheering off the 3 nubs closest to the headlight on the left side, JB welding the one I could find back on(which surprising worked quite well) I feel like an expert. Thank the lord the Heed engine guards don't require any of that nonsense.

I'm a retired mechanic, and it's fun to see how others go about maintenance/ repairs. I have a 2019 Vstrom 650. To change its air filter, you have to remove the fuel tank along with a lot of the plastics.

It is such a shame that ease of maintenance is such a low priority for the Honda engineers. Not worse than other manufacturers I'm sure, but still a shame. Thanks for this video.

Now I appreciate the ease of air filter change on the Himalayan, three fasteners to remove the side panel, then three fasteners to remove the air filter cover from the airbox. Only problem is the air intake is rather low so no deep water crossings...

I’ve gotta say that changing filters on my 2021 atas is ridiculously time consuming! Dumb design. Especially with crashbars etc. I did the IDBDR this fall with new filters and they were very very dirty after the BDR.

Mine were positively gunky after all the dusty rides last year.
