Excellent, of course I found this video AFTER I replaced the belt but I still gotta do the blades and thanks for the tip about the magnetic tool( I had no idea). My tensioner screw is stuck and I decided to not try to push it with an impact screwdriver but I managed to get the belt on just the same. I do love this planer tho, now I think it’s even more innovative due to it being so DIY friendly for maintaining. Nice table saw btw….

Thank you my friend. I had tried several methods and I had issues. I had very good luck with your method for replacing the belt and now I am back in business. Thank you again for publishing this tip.

I just replaced my new belt, which was a lot harder than when I put the original belt on after installing a Shelix cutterhead because the original belt was probably stretched a bit after 2 years. This was the BEST METHOD of all the ones I watched and somewhat tried to get the new belt on. The only way I found to get the belt to feed around the large pulley was to used the socket to turn the pulley clockwise so I didn't loosen the pulley nut while using the socket to stretch the belt enough at the pulley feed point. Great video and thanks

Thanks bro, mine was sitting for a while in our hot climate and that urethane belt had degraded. When I turned it on....it made what my old friend used to describe as "an expensive sound". You made it easy for me. Thumbs up!!

Lol. "An expensive sound" is great! Thanks for watching!

@@TwistedWorkshop77 Ok......I might have given you the impression that it was "Mission Accomplished". I always like to say that anything a skilled mechanic can do in 15 minutes....I can easily do in 3 hours. My old belt decomposed badly and I had to get in there and clean the grooves on both wheels, and then came the fun part. I bought the 2 belt package from Scamazon and found out quickly that the belt had the same elasticity as stainless steel. The "bicycle chain" method you made look so easy didn't come close, so I took the wheel off and used the clamp method, which was as easy pulling a fishhook out of your dick. I also read (after) the reviews on the Scamazon belts, which were not glowing and cheerful. I'm guessing you had the OEM belt? Anyways the machine works again and I now have a really great excuse for that OJ and tequila (2shots) sunset drink. Thanks again, you made it "look easy". YOU BASTARD!!!!!😂

Great video, thanks so much. One question, the rollers in my planer don't seem to rotate and everything looks ok, any ideas on how to fix this. Thanks

Great video! I used the handle of the torx wrench (the one in the lid of the planer) to jam the belt in - while rotating w a socket wrench - worked quite nice. Thanks for this video!

I see that you used the DeWalt OEM belt. It’s harder to install than other replacement belts but anything other than the original belt will break almost immediately..

Dang! Good video. I bought my 735 used and didn't even know about the t-handle wrench! Maybe I would have figured it out when I needed to change the knives, but haven't done that yet. Thanks for the education.

I've found the square drive screws sometimes difficult to remove. After breaking one off I found Dewalt makes some nice star drive screws and a wrench as replacments. Much easier to use. Also, I now use a 3/8 speed wrench to loosen the screws. Also much easier. Now I have switched out the cutter head with a Byrd helical head and haven't touched a knife in a long time. Great videos, thanks.

Thanks for the advise. I would like to get the helical head for mine. It has a lot of miles on It now and I worry that it breaks after such a big investment. I will probably end up getting it anyway. Thanks again
