Replacing the hydraulic valve tappets on a Porsche 944 S2

The video is a step by step tutorial how to replace the hydraulic valve tappets in the 16 valve cylinder head on your Porsche 944 S2. For doing this repair the camshafts and the timing chain has to be removed and reinstalled. The video serves also for this repair as a tutorial. Thank you for making all these videos. Is it possible to remove the camshaft bridges without the special tool? I would like to avoid buying something so specialized if possible. I have read elsewhere that even loosening of all bridges could result in a safe removal.

Super Video❤ könntest du das Video verlinken, indem der Nockenwellendeckel vom S2 ausgebaut wird? Meiner ist stark in Mitleidenschaft gezogen, da es die nicht mehr neu gibt, würde ich ihn gerne neu lackieren. Hast du Tipps hierzu und weisst du zufällig, wie die RAL Bezeichnung vom Nockenwellendeckel bei den S2s ist? Habe manche in silber und in eierschalenfarben gesehen. Was war die Originalfarbe? (Meiner ist Baujar 1990)..LG

Thank you for the video. The workshop manual says remove the cam with tool 9226 and install with tool 9248. Did you use the same for install and removal? I’d like to not have to purchase 9248 if it isn’t required.

Hi Jurgen. Thank you for all the great videos. I have a question. When should the timing chain be changed for a new one? I bought a kit to replace the tension pads. It came with a new chain. Old pads look very good. Should I also change chain? Car has 138,000 km.
