Have you found a good brand of ignition module? Import Direct lasted all of a day on my '91.

The one I recently purchased from amazon is still working just fine. I guess you can always just order an oem one from a mazda dealer.

How did you know the module is bad. My 91 b2200 has wierd symptom. It slowly lost power and wouldent rev past 3k rpm. I have change fuel pump+filter gave ign tune up. Checked timing belt. And all the basics compression ect. It seems the timing is retarded. Back fires through intake. Any suggestions?

For me it was just a process of elimination. In the video description I noted that I was finally dealing with a no-start scenario. After some troubleshooting I suspected that maybe the problem could be the ignition control module. In my specific case it was not. A faulty ignition module can affect ignition timing, resulting in an engine that misfires and runs rough. The engine may also run well at low speed, but won't accelerate well. Considering everything you have mentioned so far that you have checked and validated and still feel that the timing may be retarded, I would replace the ignition control module just to be on the safe side have that covered.

The electric fuel pump in the tank was not putting out enough fuel pressure.

I have just received ignition module for my truck. It is different style than your truck. Mine is a small black 3 wire box next to the coil. Inside my dist. Is just a hall effect sensor. I will keep you posted after I change it. Again TY for your reply.
