Replacing the motor in a makita HR3540C Rotary Hammer.

This is an odd one, customer says this hammer has bearly used at all. I hear this a lot, but never about a machine that has clearly been worked half to death.
It's not very often you see any armatures worn down this much from constant work. Let alone have the customer say it's never been used.
This is actualy a testimony to makita tools. This hammer has been worked hard and for a long time for it to wear down the comutator bar this much in 3 years.
It needed a new armature, brush holder, brushes, seal, oil seal, cap, gear and some grease. In total this repair cost 200 euro. compared to 600 for a new one.

Love your videos Dean! Learnt a lot from it. Started repairing a lot of my own tools instead of sending them away for repair en that way saved a lot of money while doing something very fun and rewarding. What kind of grease do you use for greasing gears etc.?

Isn't it normally the brushes that wear? Never seen a commutator that worn before. Could be that the owner replaced the brushes many times before, but I was quite surprised seeing that poor commutator.

Dean when washing these tools with kerosene is it ok to washed them with the field still inside
