Replacing the soft top on a 2007 350Z HR

We bought a replacement canvas for the Nissan 350Z 2007 HR soft top. Following the detailed guide that came with the roof, we started stripping out the entire roof mechanism, just to realize this is completely unnecessary. thanks to ‪@JonnyBarajas‬ for your detailed guide. it was super easy to follow and it made our lives easy!

I will be doing my top replacement tomorrow. I hope for the same result as you with my project as I'm not using a Nissan top, it's from an aftermarket company.

Make sure you have lots of water to drink, music to listen to and nothing else that will interfere with your head space. Focus and take it slow. It tedious but not difficult. Check both our video and the one I reference in the comments at least twice before you start - there are things we stripped odd that was completely unnecessary. Good luck!

Thanks Tesoro. She is a beauty. All the changes we made are very subtle, so that only people who know these cars will notice. She looks great for a 15 year old girl. Francois really looks after her too

@@We-R-Racing I just purchased a 2006 but not as beautiful as yours. I have to replace the convertible top. I have to do some body work to it. Remove the seats to wash them and wash the inside etc. I just bought new tires for it and replaced Rotors and new brakes.. I plan on coating the bottom of the car to restore the most I can. Bought new headlights and taillights. It runs smoothly and fast.

@@tesorotucan4332 these cars are indestructible. You will be happy. Only problems on yours is that it uses a little oil and that is fine - don't worry about it, it is the way the motor is built. 2nd thing is a tick noise from the motor when you are cruising. This is some fuel valve that wears out. Loads of KZbin videos on that and cheap to replace. 3rd issue is a tick noise from the back axle when you pull off slowly. This is the spline that unseads over time. Take it out and either greace it or lock tight it and torque it back in. You will never hear it again. Best cars ever. If you look after her with regular service, you can beat on her every day and she will last for years

Oh last thing. If someone ever mess with the cooling system. It has 2 blead points. If you don't blead both, you will get heating issues

When you guys replaced the tension straps on the 2nd and 3rd bow, or rubbers as you called them, were the new ones the same length as the original ones? Halfway through this project, which is why I'm asking. Do you have an e-mail I could correspond with you about this?
