Actually if you put on larger tires the speedometer will read slower then you are going.

my speed sensor is working but it leaks fluid so I need to change just the Oring. Im on O'Reilly website and cannot find the Oring. Do you remember how you found yours?

Hi there, I've bought them from a couple different Jeep part sites before. Extreme terrain.com and quadratec.com are great sources for Jeeps, and rockauto.com has parts for almost anything

Hey, just throwin this at you in case you have an opinion. I've got a 96XJ I deliver mail in. Odometer works (but seems to neither be miles or km....it is a factory RHD from Japan), but the speedometer works only sometimes. Going to get under it this Sunday, but do you think the odometer working and speedo being intermittent would point more to worn gears, as opposed to an electrical part?

Hi, the odometer and the speedometer both get their data from the speed sensor on the transfer case (the part the gear attaches to). Because your odometer is working, it sounds like the gear is ok. I think in your case this indicates an electrical issue or possibly an issue with the guage itself
