Love the video, explains exactly what may have happened in my newly purchased remodeled house after just under 10 flushes.

Yet you didn’t show the most important thing. How the heck do you line the screws up😫

Not a professional but suspect the real reason there was an issue is that the top of the toilet flange is below the level of the finished tile. The wax should make contact with both the flange and the underside of the toilet porcelain. You probably need a few shims/ extenders on the toilet flange.

That is correct, but also doubling up on the wax ring itself is also a fix. As long as his toilet isn't rocking back and forth there is no need to extend the floor flange.

I did not understand what was fixed. It seemed like it was taken apart and then put back the same way it was. Would appreciate clarification. Part of the explanation sounded like the problem with the previous installation was that the ring had been placed on the flange and then the bowl had been pressed on it, rather than putting in on the bowl and then pressing the bowl and ring on the flange. The video insists that the correct way is to put it on the bowl, but then does it the other way. I personally do not think it makes a difference, except that if one puts it on the bowl it may drop when the bowl is lifted.

That's why he said to make sure it was seated on the toilet side. And the Tile was the reason to double up on the wax ring. Its much easier than cleaning a floor flange. But that is also why you can buy them with/without a flange on the wax ring. You can also buy different thicknesses and that may be what the "contractor" should have known originally.
