Great video. Did this on a Seat Leon mk2 (2006), the parts are the same and these instructions work perfectly.

I ask this question because it's the first time i need to change the brake pads on my mk 5. I did it before on my mk 4 & 3. But then when i needed to change the brake pads i only pushed the piston back replaced the pads and it was clear. But i was afraid that the mk 5 is different because it's one of 2008. So if you say it's ok to push only the piston back and replace the pads and nothing else i will be happy. So thank you for your help ;-)

The 14 mm spline caliper carrier bolts, I have heard that these cannot be reused. I have also heard that that can be. Is it safe to reuse these bolts or should they be replaced with new ones? Very good video, very informative.

So, Don't degrease the new disk ? Don't grease the disk retaining screw ?( to stop seizing ) Don't wrap a rag around the resevoir to catch the fluid when piston is pushed in ? (or use turkey baster to remove some fliud first ?) Thanks for vid anyway it all helps.

Is it good enough if you only put the piston back ? don't you need to put the air out of the oil-pipe ?

I'm replacing my brakes pad and I can't get the caliper piston to compress. Is there something that I'm not doing or is it just seized from rust? Thanks.

Hi Luke, thanks for getting in touch. A quick Google suggests plenty of online suppliers including Amazon and eBay. Kind regards, Team VWGenuineParts.co.uk
