There is a undertakers in Fleetwood that use a replica trotters van for funerals. It says on the side only fools and hearses. My mate's mum booked it for her own funeral, it gave us all a good laugh. A great send off.

These Reliants came from Burnley Star Cars in the 80s .The original Capri was supplied and fitted out to order by the show.A friend of mine worked on these cars.Redex was poured in the fuel to make them smoke .My friend said there was many supplied to the show you can tell the difference between models because of the different colored interiors only the exterior was painted again they were all painted and sign written in Burnley.

Friend of mine inherited a Reliant Regal which was an estate when his Grandad died, same as the van but with windows in the side, bringing it home it broke down not far from his home, they couldn’t find anywhere to attach the tow rope, so he sat inside & the rope was wrapped around the outside for the 2 miles home.

@@paulie-Gualtieri. The capri is very much still around, having just had a front end restoration after a catastrophic engine fire. The mk2 Escort X pack which is seen in the opening credits, I saw in a "Classic Ford" magazine article on a car show only a couple of years ago, so I'm 99% certain is still with us. The Escort apparently destined before filming began to be Terry Mcann's car but was decided against using as Terry was deemed by tv bosses to be too much of a loser so that's why he got the capri. Personally I'd love to have both, but if I had to choose I'd definitely go for the Escort.

Since you've numbered them i'll do the same in my comments, im from the Reliant Owners Club and have been in it for about 15 years, ive actually been asked to authenticate some of the vans in your video, so here are my 2 pence on them, it'll be a long comment! 1. the van from the first series is dead, it was scrapped and thats what everyone said involved was, the problem is it reappeared years later because the registration number in the show was real, we don't know but it either has survived amazingly or someone got the log book and made a van, no one has seen the van in 30 years so its one in the ether 2. Sadly this is the problem, cars of the star bought cars from the actual productions, he was incredibly strict with what he purchased been genuine, the photo in that bbc article you'll see a photo of it parked outside the old museum, its completely up in the air if this van is genuine or not as no one has seen any proof and its been painted in a way it looks nothing like one in the show - cars of the star owned 3 different vans but something makes me think he wouldn't put a genuine trotter van outside in the rain when he had another one inside the museum 3. This is not a screen used trotter van at all, its not even the correct model, it was never actually used in the TV show and was only used for the BBC ident used before the original airing of the "if they could see us now episode", in the clip it shows a van parking outside in monte carlo and they used CGI to make it a stretch limo - the way this was auctioned was totally wrong to me and made it seem like a screen used van when in reality its a promo van and nothing more 4. Is a complete fake, lots of people were not happy with a big auctioneers selling this saying its a genuine van with such a low bar of evidence as just a bbc key ring - theirs also lots of bits on it that make it seem not to have been used in the show 5. Thats another one from Perry which was bought direct from the production, one of the ones with cast iron proof 6. It looks like it was sold originally as a replica and one seller along the way created this magically story about, I don't believe its a genuine screen used van for OFAH and it certainly isn't from Mr Bean - if you look at Mr Bean btw their was two vans used, the first is clear seen in the very first episode and the one in your screenshots is from the last golf episode (thats the one in myth thats a trotter van hastily repainted) - sadly this one just because its in the museum is now been said is genuine because of where its it 7. Someone was very brave and sold Ricky a very badly done replica in the worst condition, he didn't know what he was buying and if you see regal vans for sale you'll see most of the sellers like to claim "it was in the show don't you know" 8. Is just a promo car, nothing more but again people selling them like to make it out as more and the price just goes up Theirs actually two more you've missed, one is a van which was found in John Sullivan's garage after he passed away, its now owned by his son and used for promo events, the van was given to him at the end of filming of what they thought was the final episode with Hero's and villians, it was put back in running order again at the NEC restoration show in 2016 - you can't get anymore proof than that! another van is appearing now LYM554K which is been dragged around on a dolly, apparently its the one from the Jolly boys outing........find it in the episode and again no proof With regards to your last part the problem with "trotter vans" is that their are some very nice but completely obsessed Only fools and horses fans who can make some brilliant replicas and later owners seem to then believe it "maybe" one used in the show and name it as such, you can the problem with owners adding their own registration numbers to things like Wikipedia to then give their own vehicle some proof, thats why theirs soooo many lists of random registration numbers floating about If you want to know anymore drop me a message, theirs plenty I can't say on a open forum like my "spotters guide" on how to immediately know a genuine van

Never did get one, but had a Robin for several years as my 'fun car' along with my Saab. The Saab was really comfy, but the Robin was definitely the most fun car to drive I've ever had.

When I returned to the UK after a lot of years away in 2001, not far from my home in Benfleet there was a Classic Car restoration company who told me that they had restored something like 6 vans for the series. They now are long gone and there is a Tesco Extra there instead. I don't know whether they ever owned any of them or simply restored them for somebody else or whether the owner of the Classic Car company was telling porkies. In general, this company restored more high end vehicles.

There were around eleven vans used, most of the vans in your video did not appear in only fools, I have a large file on the original vans and who created and supplied them to the BBC, there are only five that survived. APL11H was scrapped and a fake was briefly put on the road that’s why it appears with an MOT, the remains of the actual van are in storage, NBL33L is the cars of the stars car and remains with Peter Nelson. WTF, NBL and one you you mention which was supplied by telefilm cars was CFD###j not CFD###j The BMC reg car appeared in the DVD title only and not used in the show. The last remaining van is owned by the Sullivan family and I will not supply the reg.

The CFD van must be the mystery one mentioned in the Classic Car Weekly article, misprinted as CDF 102J but actually CFD 102J, which shows as a yellow Reliant with last tax and V5 in 1998.

It was purchased from filming and used as an advertisement, it was seen on flyovers and lay-bys for if I remember correctly double glazing? Anyway it was passed around a few collectors before being vandalised. It was restored to pre vandalised state and has been in storage ever since, the owner not being a fools fan wanted to restore it to one like he had back in the day which was blue.
