Thank you for making this tutorial! I see so many videos about creating natural environments for pets native to humid or moist areas. I appreciate you sharing information for those of us with pets that require drier climates!

It never ceases to amaze me how, despite being taught the metric system in detail in elementary school(in the late 70s, after having first been taught the imperial system years earlier), I _STILL_ have to convert metric measurements into imperial units before I'm able to fully grasp the information!

I have the same thing the other way around haha. Iam more of a fan of using buckets or ratios in the possible spots, so everyone can follow

Was interesting how you did that top layer of substrate & was very shocked how good of a job you did on the final result. Looks like the substrate in the desert. Well done bro 👍🏽

Thanks! Its so fun to replicate every Detail of the actual desert not just by looks but for the same function. Also thanks for collecting all the data for my research bro :)

Great video build. The soil and plants look amazing. What is the purpose of the soil moisture gradient? Is it to provide them a gradient to better regulate themselves?
@DraganthasDragons9 ай бұрын
The gradient is to keep the surface dry so the Reptiles can camouflage and hide, if they dig a bit deeper they can access the moisture for egg laying and thermo regulation.

@@DraganthasDragons right, I see. Thanks! Very interesting reptiles

If they dig deep .. it doesn’t bring up the moist soil and intertwined with the desert substrate ?
@DraganthasDragons8 ай бұрын
Sure it will but with the watering system and misting/ watering plants it will rehydrate and the crust hardens again. Over time the substrate mixes naturally so you have to refill the top layers.

Makes since as you would need to clean the top anyway so def doing this for my micro species !! Thanks
