Dillon should go. Hes 34. Time for the youth. Pionk or Schmidt also.

The only problem is the jets d is incredibly soft! I agree you can’t sign him to 3 or 4 years. Just too risky. Demelo is another guy I would be very hesitant to sign. When push comes to shove he gets shoved and has very limited offensive ability. In a 2nd/3rd pairing role maybe. They do need to totally rebuild the right side and unfortunately you can’t just snap your fingers and make it happen.

@@rudeboy4710 Jets need 2 younger D that can skate, move the puck and provide offense. And they need to acquire a veteran top 4 d-man that plays with an edge. Logan Stanley is not the answer, and it's stupid to continue giving one-year deals to a guy that is a 7th or 8th defenseman at best and will never be a regular. Kyle Capobianco was the top AHL defenseman this season, and never even got a sniff on the Jets, and is going to be a UFA because he didn't play enough games for the main team by the age of 25 (just like Eric Comrie). Ville Heinola continues to waste away on the Moose, as he effectively lost his chance to play for the Jets after he broke his ankle early in the season and was never given a chance.

Jets will let Dillon go and then spend a draft pick at the trade deadline to get a big, tough, experienced defenseman for the playoffs. I want to see a youth movement but it’s Pionk and Schmidt who should be expendable on D. Heinola, who I like, won’t bring what Dillon does. Offer Three years to Dillon. If he says no, at least you tried.

If anything, Poink and Demelo need to go who are small guys and cannot win puck battles. Avs destroyed them thus Winnipeg was hemmed in their zone. Dillon has at least some grit and size over poink and demelo. Poink and Demelo were horrible in the playoffs.

Dillon is terrible at handling the puck and is 33. The blue line needs to get younger and paying to extend a guy into his late 30s that is not much of an offensive threat doesn't make a lot of sense.

Whoever dreams of letting Dillon walk should be fired. Forget “frauds” how about Winnipeg Momma’s boys? You don’t get rid of anyone on the team that has a pair. This team just wants to cry to the refs and get bullied in the playoffs. Get rid of Pionk and Schimdt. Trade Ehlers and get #2 defenceman. Bring up your young guys and get rid of the softness on this team. PS. You will never win with Ned Flanders Scheifele
