We can't even consider regime change at this juncture, regardless of the season outcome. JD is the best GM this franchise has had since Sonny Werblin stepped in and made the NFL we know today from that Joe Namath pick. There isn't a GM in history that hit on every draft pick and very few engineered a haul like we saw three years ago. Even Tannenbaum road the team off the rails and into the ditch with his massive cap mishandling in the end. Lock up JD now before he gets away like Belichick did.

If we don't re-sign JD I think it would be a mistake. The lack of playoff success is not really his fault that's coaching. JDs positives overwhelmingly outweighs his negatives. He should be our Ozzie Newsome. If we let him go I don't think we're finding a better GM.

Overall, JD has done a solid job. You can't be perfect in this industry, just doesn't happen. He's turned the franchise around talent-wise, and we have a great group of people in the front office and on the field. We'll be fine with him, than without. You know what I can only judge JD from The 2nd year going forward. The draft with Gas as HC was Base and his scouts and couches giving Douglas what they wanted. None of those guys have planned out except for 2. Where JD gets the most heat is for Zack which I blame and the offensive coaches for not really looking at Sacks weaknesses as a player or had a veteran start and let him sit to learn not just throw him to the wolves

JD has greatly improved the talent on the Jets. Most unfortunate that injuries and lack of player development has held him back. If Reddick comes back this season how do you know he will be good? Remember, no sacks in the last five games last season. Over the last three seasons or more Jets seemed to have more than their share of injuries. Trevor Lawrence hasn't been that good since he was drafted. Think Jets will have a good season and JD will be back. RS should be back too.

Seasons are so unpredictable. I like to judge a GM by the expectations I have for a team at the start of the season. I than judge the coach based on how they lived up to those expectations. This team looked like a play off roster last year, this year they should be true contenders if they stay healthy. JD has earned it. Now Saleh needs to earn his.

JD has been the Dave Kingman of GM's. Hitting HR blasts with Breece, Garret, and Sauce. Striking out spectacularly with Zach and Mekhi. He and Saleh may be actually the worst combo GM/HC we've ever had. Even McCag had one winning season with Bowles. I hope I'm wrong, but if the AR experiment fails this year, we will be capped out and so the fire sale will begin to stock up picks for the new GM/HC. To add insult to injury, Sam D was lighting it up for Minn. and Mekhi looked like a brick wall for the birds. Can only happen to the Jets (repeatedly)

He’s had his ups and downs. Good signings and bad same as draft picks. The way I look at it is let’s see what happens this year (did he do it being it’s contract year and it lit a fire under his ass?) he loaded up. Soooo if Jets do more than one game in the playoffs they should consider signing him unless the front office knows of someone that’s is available they have interests on. Then the whole of a new gm comes then a new coaching staff. So there is so many moving parts in this. He definetely needs to address his scouting staff if he gets resigned because there def was a lot of misses in the draft. Zach Wilson pick will always be stuck with Douglas like a bad teen age tattoo. I totally agree if it’s 8-9 win season, one playoff game I think they need to consider changing up the front office.

I can't see a single reason why anyone would want JD extended. Perenial top 10 draft picks for 6 years having multiple 1sts multiple years. Not one winning season. How does anyone trust his evaluation on QBs? Both HC hires haven't worked out either. The only thing he's got right is the easy top 10 picks he's had and he's wiffed on a couple of those as well. Even if they have a deep playoff push this year, they're in cap hell the next 3 years paying Rodgers. A handful of teams turn their franchise around with 1 draft. JD's had the equivalent of nearly 12.

Almost all of our opponents looked decent....and not the cake games that so many people have projected. NOTEWORTHY: Patriots...defense looks good...offense woeful. Titans....this is going to be a tough win if Levis protects the ball. FAST defense....tends to overplay to the ball. Bills...defense is a work in progress. Josh is learning to distribute the ball...since he does not have Diggs. Broncos...defense looked better under Vann Johnson...Bo Nix does not impress me....still. Vikings...HA! Their OL might not hold up well against our pass rush. Right now... I see 2-3 against these team. Let's see the extent of Josh's hand injury. Non-throwing hand.

Enough with JFM already. For every great play he made there were an equal number of bone head plays. The 3 worst moves JD made were drafting Becton, ZW, and not bringing in a big time OC.
