I have thought for a long time that it is a coaching problem. The Canucks are hardly ever ready to start a game since md last season when Soucy got injured. Tochett and Miller used to all review plays and all of a sudden that stopped like Miller had a different perspective than Tochett. I also believe he moves people around in the line up way too much.

From what I understand from the news is NOT that they're willing to fire sale him for anything, but rather that they're willing to consider prospects to move him so they can get easier to move assets to get that they can trade more easily then a top line centre who's worth over $8mil AAV for long term, but in a slump season, and has a no move clause and can veto any trade he doesn't like. Prospects and picks can't veto trades as they don't have those trade killing clauses in their contracts.

Miller or tocch?? I choose miller
@davesummer25523 күн бұрын
That’s the wrong choice, look how solid this team was last season with basically the same core of players. Tocchet won coach of the year. I’ll bet all this BS and turmoil this season is mostly due to this Miller situation, and his asking to be traded. His American arrogance is showing, he thinks he’s larger and more important than the rest of the team. In some respects he’s proven his worth / power by sending the team into a tailspin, way to go Miller, thanks for mailing it in most nights since your argument with coach, probably causing a rift in the dressing room, definitely causing a huge distraction that’s made this team unrecognizable from last year’s team on most nights.
@Vancouverallday3 күн бұрын
@davesummer2552 you sound like me lol I do blame this on Miller, too management with making bad decisions with the D core the fact that all fans are blaming this, and that js also tell you that everybody take part in the blame but I think coach deserves it more than any other person/thing. Tocchet did all those things last year. This year is this year, I don't think he's a good coach he mis handles personality every team he goes to, all the star player he had coach all had less the stellar performances, and when he leaves they get better from Vinny Lecalvier, to OEL, and St.Louis, Hall, Kessel, Stammer these HOF players who "coincidentally" had bad years while he coached em.

Miller gets (justifiably) benched for one period and proceeds to quit the team, that’s pathetic and (almost) unforgivable. Look at how this has affected the team, the fanbase and our entire season. How about be a professional, take your medicine for being a defensive liability (at times), improve and move on. If memory serves, Tocchet quashed the benching when asked by the media about it, he didn’t hang Miller out to dry or embarrass him any further. Tocchet was sending Miller a message and apparently Miller is beyond reproach, NOBODY benches Miller! So he picks a fight with the Coach, then takes a leave of absence for a month? He had fans praying for his family and wishing him well blah blah blah….all along it was because he was butthurt about being benched for ONE PERIOD?! If this all stems back to that benching and it’s eventually confirmed 100%, Miller should never be forgiven for causing this rupture to the team / season. When he played, Tocchet had more heart / integrity in his little finger than Miller ever will have, I guarantee he never would’ve put himself above the whole team and demand a trade if he got benched for playing poorly.

Nope, Milsy has gone over the edge with both his team mates and coaches and that is why they suspended him. Real simple. This is what happens with a highly emotional player like Milsy when the team is playing like dog shit and are losing. His play goes along with the team and his emotions get the better of him. It really is that simple. People read way too much into this simple phenomena. They are not going to give Milsy away, that would be stupid. I would bet you they put him in the press box before they did that.
@bakikountwa21923 күн бұрын
It is so obvious. Never heard of players get a break because of having a bad season, he must have acted out to receive a suspension. But they won’t call it that way. Anyway, his suspension maybe just a culmination of his attitude towards the game, the players and the coaches especially after the benching. Speaking of that, Tocchet clearly has had enough of Miller’s lack of back checking (for multiple games) leading up to goals by the opponents. He gave up plays, not skating hard, not engaged at all. The worst is his expression after given up a goal as if nothing bad happened at all. Players don't get bench because of one bad game or after a simple mistake. There has to be a strong reason especially for a caliber like Miller.

He(tocchet) is always giving too much away to the other teams(info). Tocchet please put a lid on it. The only one performing up to par is Mr. Captain Quinn Hughes.
