Apparently she had no clue how to open a garage door without power. Pull the cord then lift the door, OR just back car through considering the situation. I mean really?

Sadly, California has pulled back on the use of controlled burns to keep the fires from spreading so rapidly. Environmentally minded people were concerned about animals and the plant life. Now, everything burns and the animals don't lose just their homes they die in the fires. Its tragic. However, I will say the speed of these winds may have even been too much for burn regions. I grew up near this area and this destruction of the Palisades is heartbreaking.

If you live in the westside of L.A., celebrities are a common sight. Same if you live near the Hollywood Hills or North Hollywood. Jay Leno use to go to the Autobooks store in Burbank every Saturday to buy car books and magazines. I saw him there three times--I almost bumped into him at the cash register. He was holding a wad of bills (I saw a 50) to pay with. Nobody said anything to him or bothered him. People in L.A. trying act cool...

Sadly maybe, but Western Canada has suffered enough of these fires that we know how to evacuate, when to leave, what to leave behind, to check on all our neighbours and even enemies. We even set up mobile fuel trucks to make sure everyone has enough gas, water and snacks to get to the relocation places.

That's funny. If anyone remembers, Steve Gutenberg in the first Police Academy is goaded by his boss to park an arrogant customers car even when he said there was no place to park the car. Then, as the car is a muscle car, he burns out and drives it on two wheels, crashing it into the space between two cars in the lot saying, "What do you know, it fits." And in this clip he says people should leave their keys so he can park their cars? HA! Hidden joke revealed.

I saw this happen on television in the late 80's or early 90's, when there was a partial building collapse in Manhattan. The reporter stopped a local man in the street to talk about it, and it was Kurt Vonnegut! As I remember, Vonnegut said he heard a loud "bang", and came out onto the street to investigate. They even took his full name and had it in the chyron. But the reporter had no idea for the whole interview, and the anchors didn't even acknowledge it! I'm sure Mr. Vonnegut got a kick out of the whole thing. I've looked for this on the internet a few times, but it seems nobody has ever posted it. At the time, of course, someone would have had to happen to tape it. Maybe nobody caught it on their VCR's, or saved it.

A perfect storm of Democrat policies did this: (1) Cancelled forest management best practices allowing fire kindling build up (2) The power grid’s antiquated infrastructure left to start the fires (3) Record rainfall water released into the ocean instead of into reservoirs (3) DEI hires in charge of the Fire Department. Of course, they’ll blame “Climate Change”.

Would it be at all possible to install a water sprinkler system to these high risk areas to help fight the catastrophic fires ? Underground pipes fed by the Ocean with a golf course type of system activated when any fire starts up . The cost would be enormous ,but think of the lives and properties that may be saved from the installation work . Deepest sympathies from Scotland ..with prayers .
