ഇടതുപക്ഷത്തെ പ്രത്യോകിച്ച് സിപിഎമ്മിനെ വിമര്‍ശിക്കുന്നതില്‍ അമിതാവേശം കാണിക്കുന്ന കേരളത്തിലെ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാക്കൾ ഗൗരവതരമായ വിഷയങ്ങളിൽ പ്രതിക്കൂട്ടിലായപ്പോൾ എന്ത് നിലപാടായിരുന്നു സ്വീകരിച്ചത് എന്ന് പരിശോധിക്കപ്പെടേണ്ടതുണ്ട്. സമ്മര്‍ദങ്ങളെയും പ്രലോഭനങ്ങളെയും അവഗണിച്ച്‌, പീഡിപ്പിച്ചവര്‍ക്കെതിരേ അധികാരികള്‍ക്കു നല്‍കിയ മൊഴിയില്‍ ഉറച്ചുനില്‍ക്കുന്ന ഇരകള്‍ക്കുതന്നെ നീതി കിട്ടാത്ത കാലമായിരുന്നു ഉമ്മൻ ചാണ്ടി സർക്കാരിന്റേത്. ഇതൊക്കെ നാട്ടില്‍ നടക്കുന്ന കാര്യങ്ങളാണ് എന്ന ഭാവത്തില്‍ സാമാന്യവൽക്കരിച്ച മുഖ്യധാരാ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ തങ്ങളുടെ തൊഴിൽ മറന്ന് പ്രതികൾക്കും കോൺഗ്രസിനും വേണ്ടി അന്ന് ഒത്താശ ചെയ്തു. അഴിമതിയ്ക്കും അനീതിയ്ക്കുമെതിരെ കണ്ണടച്ചു പിടിച്ച മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെയും മാധ്യമപ്രവര്‍ത്തകരുടെയും ഒട്ടും വൃത്തിയില്ലാത്തതും ദുര്‍ഗന്ധം വമിപ്പിക്കുന്നതുമായ അവസ്ഥയാണ് അന്ന് കണ്ടത്. ആ മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ തന്നെയാണ് ഇപ്പോൾ എം.എം. മണിയുമായി ബന്ധപ്പെട്ട വിവാദത്തിൽ മാധ്യമവിചാരണയുമായി ഇറങ്ങിത്തിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഈ മാധ്യമ നെറികേടിനെതിരെ ചര്‍ച്ച ഉയര്‍ന്നേ തീരൂ. ഒരേ വിഷയങ്ങളിൽ തന്നെ കോൺഗ്രസ്സിനോടും സിപിഎമ്മിനോടും മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ വ്യത്യസ്ത നീതിയാണ് കാട്ടിയതെന്ന് കഴിഞ്ഞകാല സംഭവങ്ങൾ തെളിയിക്കും. വൈദ്യുത വകുപ്പ് മന്ത്രി എം.എം. മണിയ്‌ക്കെതിരെ ഈയ്യിടെയുണ്ടായ വിവാദം ശ്രദ്ധിക്കുക. താൻ നടത്തിയതായി പറയപ്പെടുന്ന സ്ത്രീവിരുദ്ധ പരാമർശം മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ വളച്ചൊടിച്ചതാണെന്ന് ആവർത്തിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞ മന്ത്രി മണി ആ സംഭവത്തിൽ ആർക്കെങ്കിലും വിഷമം ഉണ്ടായിട്ടുണ്ടെങ്കിൽ അതിൽ നിർവ്യാജം ഖേദിക്കുന്നുവെന്ന് പലവട്ടം പറഞ്ഞുകഴിഞ്ഞു. എന്നാലും ആ പരാമർശത്തിന്റെ പേരിൽ ഒരു വേട്ടയാടൽ രീതി തന്നെയാണ് മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ നടത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. എം.എം. മണിയ്‌ക്കെതിരെ നടക്കുന്ന സമരം ഒരു സ്‌പോൺസേർഡ് സമരം മാത്രമാണ്. ആദ്യ സമരത്തിലേതു പോലെ തോട്ടം തൊഴിലാളി സ്ത്രീകളുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തം ഒട്ടുമില്ല. നിരാഹാരമിരിക്കുന്ന ഗോമതിയെ പൊമ്പിളെ ഒരുമൈയുടെ നേതാവ് ലിസി സണ്ണി ഉൾപ്പടെയുള്ളവർ തള്ളിപ്പറയുകയും ചെയ്തിരുന്നു. എന്നിട്ടും ഗോമതിയുടെ പൊറാട്ടുനാടകത്തെ "പൊമ്പിളെ ഒരുമൈ" സമരം എന്നാണ് മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ ആവർത്തിച്ച് വിളിക്കുന്നത്. ആം ആദ്മി സമരത്തിൽ നിന്നും പിൻവാങ്ങിയതോടെ മൂന്നുപേർ മാത്രം പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന സമരം അങ്ങേയറ്റം ദുർബലമായിരിക്കുന്നു ഇന്ന്. എന്നാൽ പടച്ചുണ്ടാക്കിയ കഥകള്‍ പാഴിലാവുന്നതിലെ ദുഃഖം കൊണ്ടായിരിക്കാം മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ ഈ വിഷയം വീണ്ടും വീണ്ടും സജീവചർച്ചയാക്കാൻ ശ്രമിച്ചുകൊണ്ടേയിരിക്കുന്നു. കഴിഞ്ഞകാല സംഭവങ്ങൾ നോക്കിയാൽ കോൺഗ്രസ്സ് നേതാക്കൾ സ്ത്രീവിരുദ്ധ പ്രസ്താവനകൾ നടത്തുക മാത്രമല്ല സ്ത്രീകളെ ആക്രമിക്കുക കൂടിചെയ്തിരുന്നു എന്ന് കാണാം. നിയമസഭയിൽ പ്രതിപക്ഷ വനിതാ സാമാജികരെ ആക്രമിക്കുകയും അപമാനിക്കുകയും ചെയ്ത സംഭവത്തിൽ പ്രതിസ്ഥാനത്തുള്ളവരായിരുന്നു കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാക്കളായ ശിവദാസൻ നായരും എം എ വാഹിദും. സ്ത്രീപീഡന നിയമപ്രകാരം നിയമ നടപടി നേരിട്ടിട്ട് പോലും ഈ മാധ്യമക്കൂട്ടങ്ങൾ ഒരു കോലാഹലവുമുണ്ടാക്കിയില്ല. ഇത് കൂടാതെ സിപിഐയുടെ എം.എൽ.എ ആയ കെ.എസ്.ബിജിമോളെക്കുറിച്ചു വളരെ മോശം പരാമര്‍ശനം നടത്തിയിരുന്നു കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ് കോഴിക്കോട് ജില്ലാ കമ്മിറ്റി പ്രസിഡന്റ് കെ.സി.അബു. കെ.സി.അബു കോൺഗ്രസ്സ് നേതാവായതിനാൽ ആ വിഷയവും മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ അലസതയുടെ കൈകാര്യം ചെയ്തു. കൊല്ലത്തെ വള്ളംകളി ഉത്സവത്തിന്റെ വേദിയില്‍ വച്ച്‌ കോൺഗ്രസിന്റെ നേതാവും എംപിയുമായ പീതാംബരക്കുറുപ്പ് നടി ശ്വേതാമേനോനെ അപമാനിച്ച സംഭവവും ഇത്തരുണത്തിൽ ഓർക്കേണ്ടതാണ്. താൻ പൊതുവേദിയിൽ അപമാനിക്കപ്പെട്ടു എന്ന് ഇരയായ ശ്വേതാമേനോന്‍ തന്നെ പറഞ്ഞിട്ടും മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ വലിയ പ്രാധാന്യമൊന്നും ആ സംഭവത്തിനു നൽകിയില്ല. കാരണം പ്രതിസ്ഥാനത്ത് നിന്നത് കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിന്റെ സമുന്നത നേതാവും പാര്‍ലമെന്റ അംഗവുമായ പീതാംബര കുറുപ്പായിരുന്നു. ശ്വേതാ മേനോന്റെ വസ്ത്രധാരണമാണ്, കുറുപ്പെന്ന കിളവനെ വീഴ്ത്തിയതെന്ന് അന്ന് പറഞ്ഞുനടന്ന കോൺഗ്രെസ്സുകാരുടെ അറപ്പുളവാക്കുന്ന വർത്തമാനത്തിനെതിരെ ഒന്നും മാധ്യമങ്ങളിൽ അച്ചടിച്ച് കണ്ടില്ല. തീർന്നില്ല, പീതാംബരക്കുറുപ്പ്‌ ചെയ്‌തതായി ശ്വേതാ മേനോൻ ആരോപിച്ച കാര്യങ്ങളേക്കാള്‍ അശ്ലീലമായിരുന്നു, അയാളെ ന്യായീകരിക്കുവാന്‍ കോൺഗ്രസ് നേതാക്കള്‍ ചാനലില്‍ പറഞ്ഞ ന്യായങ്ങള്‍. സഭ്യതയുടെയും മനുഷ്യമര്യാദകളുടെയും സീമകള്‍ ലംഘിക്കുന്ന ആക്ഷേപങ്ങള്‍ മാധ്യമങ്ങള്‍ക്കുമുന്നില്‍ ഉന്നയിച്ച പ്രതാപവര്‍മ തമ്പാനെപ്പോലുള്ള കോണ്‍ഗ്രസ്‌ നേതാക്കള്‍ സ്‌ത്രീകളുടെ മാനാഭിമാനങ്ങള്‍ നിരന്തരം വെല്ലുവിളിച്ചിട്ടും മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ കോൺഗ്രസ്സിനെയോ പ്രതാപവര്‍മ്മ തമ്പാനെയോ വളഞ്ഞിട്ടാക്രമിച്ചില്ല. ആ സംഭവത്തിനു ശേഷം നല്‍കിയ പരാതി പിറ്റേന്നുതന്നെ പിന്‍വലിക്കുവാന്‍ ശേ്വതാ മേനോന്‍ എന്ന പ്രശസ്‌ത നടിയെ പ്രേരിപ്പിച്ചതെന്താകും എന്ന ചോദ്യം പ്രസക്‌തമാണ്‌. പ്രതാപവര്‍മ്മ തമ്പാന്‍ ഭീഷണിയുടെ സ്വരത്തിൽ സംസാരിച്ചതോടെ ഭയന്നുപോയ ശ്വേതാമേനോൻ അപമാനിക്കപ്പെട്ടതിന്റെ പേരിലുള്ള പരാതി പിന്‍വലിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു. മൊഴിമാറ്റിപ്പറയേണ്ടിവന്ന ഇരയുടെ നിസഹായത ഒരു മാധ്യമവും കണ്ടില്ല. സുനന്ദ പുഷ്കര്‍ ഒരു കെഎസ്‌യുക്കാരനെ തല്ലിയപ്പോഴേക്കും കേരളത്തിലെ മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ അതൊരു വാർത്തയായേ കണ്ടില്ല. ആ വിഷയം ഒതുക്കിത്തീർക്കുന്നതിൽ മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ കോൺഗ്രസ്സിന് കൂട്ടുനിൽക്കുകയാണ് ചെയ്തത്. ഇവിടത്തെ മാധ്യമങ്ങൾ അതൊതുക്കി തീര്‍ക്കാതെ ആ മാനസിക രോഗിയെ നീതി പീഠത്തിന്റെ മുന്നില്‍ കൊണ്ടു വന്ന് മാതൃകാപരമായി ശിക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനു വേണ്ടി യത്നിക്കുകയായിരുന്നില്ലേ യഥാർത്ഥത്തിൽ വേണ്ടിയിരുന്നത്? ഒരു മാർക്സിസ്റ്റ്കാരനെയോ ചുരുങ്ങിയപക്ഷം ഒരു ഇടതുപക്ഷ വിദ്യാർത്ഥി സംഘടനാ പ്രവർത്തകനെയോ പ്രതിസ്ഥാനത്ത് കിട്ടാത്തത് കൊണ്ട് ആ സംഭവത്തിനും അകാല ചരമം ഉണ്ടായി. ജനങ്ങള്‍ തനി കൊഞ്ഞാണന്മാര്‍ ആണെന്ന ധാരണയിൽ ആണെന്ന് തോന്നുന്നു തികച്ചും പക്ഷപാതപരവും അനീതികരവുമായ മാധ്യമ ശൈലി മലയാള മനോരമയും മാതൃഭൂമിയും പോലുള്ള മാധ്യമ കുത്തകകൾ പിന്തുടർന്ന് കൊണ്ടിരിക്കുന്നത്. ഉമ്മൻ ചാണ്ടി സർക്കാർ അഴിമതിയുടെ അഴുക്കുചാലില്‍ നിന്തിത്തുടിച്ചപ്പോൾ സത്യം തുറന്നു പറയുന്നു എന്ന് മേനിനടിക്കുന്ന പല മാധ്യമങ്ങളും അവരുടെ പല യുവമാധ്യമ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരും പ്രതികരിക്കാന്‍ പോലും കൂട്ടാക്കിയില്ല. പ്രാഥമിക മാധ്യമ മര്യാദയുടെ ലംഘനമായിരുന്നു അത്. കോണ്‍ഗ്രസിന്റെ വൈകൃതങ്ങള്‍ക്കൊപ്പം സഞ്ചരിക്കുന്ന മലയാള മാധ്യമങ്ങളുടെ ഇരട്ടത്താപ്പ് പകൽപോലെ വ്യക്തമാക്കുകയാണ്. കോൺഗ്രസ്സിനെ ഒട്ടിനില്‍ക്കുന്ന മാധ്യമപ്രവർത്തകർ ഭക്ഷിക്കുന്നത് അഴിമതിയാണോയെന്ന്‌ സംശയിച്ചാൽ ജനത്തെ ഇനി കുറ്റപ്പെടുത്താനാകില്ല.

M.M. Mani is a habitual offender. He made offensive remarks against a woman Principal of Painavu Polytechnic, Idukki. He alleged that the women Principal indulges in some "other activities" by closing the doors of her office room. According to him the Principal has some "other" disease, otherwise why does she close the door? The Sub Inspector of the town also threatened, following which a case has been registered against him under IPC Sections 143, 147 & 188. Using filthy language is his trademark. In one of his controversial speech, he said the Idukki Sub-Inspector is a "bastard" who does many dirty things besides abusing all the policemen in the area. Very recently he made derogatory remarks about the Prime Minister of this country in a by-election campaign at Malappuram consistency. He said Narendra Modi is suffering from some biological defects that forced him to divorce his wife. He is a foul-mouthed product of CPI(M). He is misusing the Freedom of Speech in this country, with the party support. Freedom of speech not extended to abuse - as every freedom is subject to restrictions. Everyone, especially ministers, should be careful in their public speeches and ensure that they make no provocative statements against one another. The interesting thing is that the most literate state in India is now being ruled by a bunch of "illiterates". Why you elect these kind of rowdies? They don't respect the Court, they don't respect the Police, they don't respect the Constitution, they don't respect the women in the state. Where are we living?

You are absolutely correct. He is trying to fool the public. By making these kind of controversial statements to distract the public attention. By doing so, he is in fact protecting his brother M.M. Lambodharan, his son Legeesh and their close relatives who encroached the forest land. They amassed wealth disproportionate to their income as farmers on leased government land. When they migrated to Idukki from Kottayam district, they have nothing, except the lungies they wear. Now they have crores of crores wealth of lands, with fabricated pattayam. The government official evicts the encroachers in the day time, and they re-encroach that area at night. This is what is happening in Munnar.
