That train derailment incident involving hazardous materials in East Palestine, Ohio in February 2023, and more recent derailments involving hazmat, remind us that there are risks inherent in moving hazmat from point A to point B, and that managing that risk is the name of the game for professionals in the field of hazmat shipping, storage, and transportation.
These hazmat incidents also remind us that US DOT imposes REPORTING REQUIREMENTS that kick in when incidents involving hazmat occur in transportation.
