Great video that clearly outlines the service. I'm a longtime Soundcloud user (since 2008), and I'm just now getting hip to Repost! I've been using Distrokid for my artists' releases, and the included Content ID registration alone makes Repost the clear winner here (vs. $5/year per track with DK!). I'll probably me making a switch moving forward! Thanks again!

Thanks man got me hyped about Repost. My 2 concerns are Beatport distribution- Soundcloud state "Beatport delivery is only available through our legacy Repost Select plan currently." Which I have no idea what it means... :/ And 20% cut with a yearly All life payment is quite a lot.. I think OneRpm take 15% and there is no annually subscription payment to keep your music live (mite missed the small letters somewhere thought) Anyways opened my eyes to this, trying to choose a distributor these days and as you said, its very frustrating and confusing Thank you :)

Hi! My question is, if I distribute thorugh DistroKid (which I learned doesn't monetize SoundCloud) can I still monetize my tracks on SoundCloud? I got monetization approved on repost by soundcloud but I still dont have the monetize tab active on my songs. *Also, I have the pro subscription. Thanks for the help!

Hey Adam! With Soundcloud Pro you can only monetize your soundcloud songs through Repost. In order to monetize directly through soundcloud you have to apply for SoundCloud Premier. Hey ! I'm in South Africa and it's been days I tried to join in with repostbysoundcloud, it keeps saying "insufficient funds" even though I have more than enough in my acc, is this a common problem or does it have to do with my location ?

I use repost too. All around good cause I love soundcloud. I only have 2 issues with them. One is the 20% tax. Since I'm already paying for unlimited I shouldn't be taxed, its unnecessary. Two is that whenever I release a single it takes 2 weeks for the song to appear on instagram and facebooks platforms/engines so from a promoting standpoint it sucks.

Does the service verifies your KZbin channel?

It does not. I emailed KZbin about that and they said you need be in the KZbin Partner Program (YPP) to merge your topic channel to your KZbin channel, which will then verify it I think. Meaning you need least 1,000 subs and a few additional requirements to qualify.

You just have to have a normal Soundcloud account and the person who distributes the music has to setup the split and send an invite to your soundcloud account, then you'll accept it and be good to go!

repost doesnt detect copyright content ID right away takes about 3 days or even more before it is detected and reflects to your dashboard unlike other distributors where they detect instantly when their music is used in youtube

Im with sound-cloud after using several other platforms who dont pay my Royalties , I had over 1 Million Spotify streams I have yet to receive a Real Pay Out. Hey, they are 60 days delayed, so after 60 days you should receive royalty payments!

you gotta add your PayPal email in account settings, then once you reach $5 or more from earnings they'll pay out. They are net 60, so payments are 2 months delayed.

Yeah, unlimited distribution. I think there's still a limit for uploading to SoundCloud.

Yes, they'll take it down. They don't specify how long it takes for them to actually do it, but at some point they will. You can transfer your release to another distributor, and if done correctly the song will keep all the plays and everything.

they don't have a separate signup for labels, so if you're using Repost as a label you just sign up as normal and enter your label's name under each artist that you release

I'm not sure if they'll be immediately removed, but they'll be removed at some point. I'd recommend transferring everything over to Amuse or one of the other free distributors prior to ending your subscription.

Biggest advantage with Distrokid is you get 100% of your royalties (vs 80% with repost) but with Repost you can distribute unlimited different artists for the same price. So if you're just gonna be releasing under one artist name Distrokid is better.

You can use multiple distributors for the same song, but both distributors can't distribute to the same stores. So if you can send your songs to Spotify through Repost and Apple Music through Distrokid for example. SoundCloud is still separate to Repost for the most part, but you can sign up for Repost to monetize your Soundcloud music.

Everything sounds good, but a 20% cut is definitely too much. Especially because you also need a subscription. 5 to 10% would be okay, but not 20%. Another con is that they only pay to Paypal, as far as i know. They should add Bank transfers too.

I agree 20% is kinda absurd. For artists just starting out it could be good but if you start to make serious money off of the mechanical royalties its probably time to switch to some other service. It would be nice if they had a more expensive option that gives you 100% of your royalties.

on Ditto you have to pay for every additional artist vs unlimited artist on Repost. With Ditto you get your music on more stores and you can setup a Vevo KZbin channel and promotional campaigns through them for additional fees. Also lots of other hidden fees. Payout threshold is $25 vs $5 for Repost. Ditto you keep 100% or royalties vs 80% for Repost. And finally, Ditto is known to have poor customer service. There's no perfect music distributor, so go with the one that works the best for you!

Just use VPN and do your own research. I even contacted them about this, but the answer was like "wecan't guarantee". what you do is get your Isrc codes for each song. make sure your metadata stays the same and upload to new a distributor. You would have to request for a takedown.

Yes, they reserve the right to remove your music once you end your subscription. My recommendation would be to migrate it to one of the free distributors like Routenote before letting your subscription expire.
