Hi, I am watching this video 3 yrs. later but I remember a technique where you make the hole in the new pot in the new potting mix with the old pot. So then there is a hole in the middle the same size as the old pot and the edges are filled with potting mix. Then you just put the plant into the new hole and tap the potting mix around the edges or shake it a little. I think this would be great for the Burros tail because you wouldn't be risking knocking off leaves putting the potting mix around the edges. I found a nice long piece of Burros tail today when I was leaving my friend's house with some plants I bought. I also picked up some leaves that were on the ground. She let me have the piece, etc. so I was reading up on how to propagate them. It sounds really easy. I will fix them in the morning. Love your videos. 😃🪴

You should look up some airy soil mixtures for all of your monsteras. I use a mix of black gold, coconut choir, orchid bark, perlite. I haven't used a cactus mix yet but I hear it works very well for drainage.

Milk crates are stackable and allow airflow. Short plants in the bottom stacks. Ideally in a car cabin with temperature control for indoor plants. I moved my outdoor plants in a uhaul in the heat and thankfully they did surprisingly good, when I stopped I would open the door to give them air and the ones I could reach got water but only water if there’s nothing in the truck that touches the floor that shouldn’t get wet! I was afraid the plants in the uhaul were going to get baked but they didn’t. Do not put plants in the back of a pickup going high speeds unless they have protection from the wind, I learned the hard way that they loose leaves, stems and get shredded unless it’s a carnosa compacta lol.

I use bonsai mix and pumice as amendments to my soil and it helps so much with drainage! I also find that pumice doesn't move up the soil as you water the plant unlike perlite so I definitely recommend it if you have issues with root rot. It happened to my satin pothos and wandering jew but changing the soil fixed it 😊

Hey Fern, in my country everyone puts leca at the bottom of the top while reporting. It protects roots from being overwatered
@anemartinearnesonkvebu22233 жыл бұрын
Actually when putting leca at the bottom of the pot it will just push the wettest soil furter up and closer to the roots, which can lead to root rot. I put leca under my pots, inside the outer pot! So the inner pot will never stand in water.

I just said those very same words this morning! ..."why are my roots always rotting?!" I swear it's my life! I feel like I am always careful to make sure my soil is well draining, I use terra cotta pots, I TRY not to over water. Idk maybe I do am I'm not aware of it but geez I swear it feels like every time I turn around I have a plant with RR! ugh. I feel your pain. But to answer your question, even tho I am so unbelievably sick of root rot at this point I would still choose it over pests! They gross me out so bad that my whole body feels creepy crawly and itchy. Yuck!

exo's vocals first I set up a few traps with 1/4 parts Apple cider vinegar to water, then I also mixed dish soap in it. Then to kill any larvae I watered my plants with a water and hydrogen peroxide mixture.
