uff I do not think your phails will like this. Many people have tried PON. Did you know it is pre-fertilized for houseplants? This means it has a high concentration of fertilizer contained in the PON already. This alone kills phalaenopsis roots. But it is so fine it also prevents good air exchange. You say your friend has tried it. I will add I know lots that have tried, failed and given up using it.

Hi Tom! Thanks for the insight. Yes I was/am a bit concerned about the size of the media, as I mentioned in the video. And Yes, you are right, Lechuza pon, Orchidpon is prefertilized. MOG tested orchidpon and found 700ppm in the reservoir, as I mentioned . That’s why I opted for lechuza basicpon. At least the label says it it’s not pre-fertilized. I haven’t checked the reservoir though. I must say , I noticed that the leaves are much firmer now after not even a week. This much reminded me of how the leaves were when I was successfully growing phals in semihydro ( in the beginning ) on a east facing window sill. We will see how the plant does after some more weeks

@@lequach75 I'm going to try Basicpon you are the only person on KZbin that is using Basicpon. I would rather add my own fertilizer. I'm going to try it on my channel.

@@plantingwithnat hey nat, thanks for checking out . I gave that particular plant away to a friend but checked with her . Judging from the picture, it looks good still. Leaves are firm. I just put three other dehydrated phals of my partners late mother into basicpon, they seem to be recovering slowly , but this of course is no warrant for long term success. I will check out your channel to see how your experience is with basic pon.
